I 100% agree. Not owing anything to anyone is true wealth. Just having the payment on the new 4Runner drives me nuts. We are doing everything to pay it off in 2 years.

saw that somewhere else yesterday, that’s got to be made up rage-bait. Does make me chuckle though, reminds me when I bought the 4Runner last year and my boss/company CFO looking at me like I was crazy for it.

It's funny, it showed up on my IG and Facebook. Definitely something that is relatable to anyone that has an attachment to older cars and trucks.

You should take your CEO for a ride in the 4Runner. Show him what he is missing.

My work "encourages" people higher up on the ladder to drive nicer vehicles... so as to provide motivation tonthose not as high on said ladder.

I would expect a sizeable increase in pay if higher ups expect me to pay for putting on a show :burp:

I'd encourage your work to offer a monthly allowance for said vehicle.

my uncle gets like $1500 + fuel a month to drive a personal vehicle. Has to be less than 5 years old and white.

I wish my work would do that, for salary folk atleast

Every job is different of course

I got a stipend every year since I opted to drive my own car vs driving a loaner vehicle at my old job

It's why you see much of management drive dealership vehicles; I drove a few different models home now and then but just to try them out

I'll never complain about have a company vehicle. Id also take the option of buying my work truck after it's miled out but they don't even do it. They lease everything

Cause they can write off the entire lease, and continue to cycle them out and bring new trucks in on new agreements; lower cost of ownership for the company

    Smart

Oh I'm sure, still be nice to have the option to buy the truck.

but only if I was the only one that drove it start to finish

I agree, sed experience should be compensated by employer. When I worked for Valspar we had company cars that were nice and clean. We were required to wash them once a week.

We started requiring pictures in our monthly vehicle inspections cause people are trashy. Inspections go all the up to the managers in Denver

I don't hate it. Fleet is a big investment for a company and it's not that hard for an employee to keep it clean and maintained

Specially when they have a wash card and no one cares if they go in and do it on company time

got a more casual version of this IRL at my last job

"aren't you worried about how people will perceive you at work? why not get something nicer"

apparently saying I considered my 90s beater Lexus nice compared to other cars I owned was not appropriate lol

    Its the company truck
This is why you work for a company that just gives you a truck and gas card then they can’t complain about what you drive. Just how you drive it lmao
