On the real estate front, my grandparents sold their camp they built in the 60s in the early 1990s. It was on a 12 mile long, 1 mile wide lake, an absolutely beautiful spot I still go to whenever I can take the fam, although only by boat because I could never afford property there. What did they sell it for? $40,000.

Well… Western Washington is absolutely crazy right now. There is not enough houses on the market. Our 2700 sq ft 2 story split level was purchased 13 years ago for $245,000. Similar 2500 sq ft house around the corner just listed for $700,000 and has multiple offers. We will hold on to ours. I believe the best retirement is a paid off mortgage. We are on track to pay her off by the time I retire in 5-7 years. Currently sitting on a 2.62% rate.

I grew up in a very rich entitled town in the 80s, even before that type of attitude became more common. Being the town freak I developed a quick hatred for that type and a love for busting their balls.

Double check me re the application but I used Nevr Dull wadding polish as a building cleaner and that stuff worked great on brass rails among other things.

We paid $175,000 for our first house in 1990. It would be $1,000,000+ now.

I spent the weekend down in Florida for my niece's wedding, it was a lot of fun seeing family I don't get to see nearly often enough. I drove my Taco down to FL loaded to the hilt on Thursday and sold it my nephew @TyBud850 on Friday. So the sad part is I don't own a Tacoma anymore, heck right now I don't even own a truck.:pout:

That's why I'm so conflicted on selling. Current mortgage is 3.25%, a little higher due to being a USDA, but still low. If I keep this house I'll be 62 when it's paid off if I keep with all 360 months. It'll be just fine for me by myself, so I don't know. I know I'll have to get a HELOC to repair the septic and well system, I don't dare dip into my 401K which has more than double what I would need for those repairs, but I know I'll need that in the end. I don't like this adulting crap! :annoyed:
