Butt, realistically probaly in the $7,000 to $10,000 range. They're about $7,500 for a 3rd gen replacement at my dealer.

I remember back in the late 2000s how every time a Toyota crashed everyone blamed unintended acceleration.

Because the words, "I can't fucking drive" don't exist in most peoples vocabulary.

Really? You think the first year of a redesign is the best? The 2016s, the 2005s? Did they have any issues?

It just blows my mind how you constantly bash 3rd gens yet you bought what? Like 7 of them? You would think a person would swap brands after like maybe 5 bad ones.

And here you are....scared this one is gonna fall apart too..

Resale value why I bought them. My 17 and 20 were good. The later models 22-23 were terrible

OHHHH my day has come and went. I now have a new transmission. 1569 miles. Toyotacare never came and got the vehicle. The dealer sent me their local tow the next day!!!! Now I am trying to get the platinum warranty, and the dealer isn't budging they gave me their discount. Ugh!!! .

You aren’t going to get a free Toyota Platinum warranty from a dealer.

My thoughts as well. Lots of entitlement going on 'round here. :der:

The individuals who are getting those free or severely discounted warranties have good dealers. In no way does Toyota owe anybody anything other than a new transmission.

I could be mistaken but I think you need to ask Toyota for that, not the dealer. I know a lot of Toyota’s decision is based on the history of the client. Purchased multiple new Toyotas, get your service at the dealer etc etc. They will usually go the extra mile to keep a good customer happy.

    ** UPDATE**

I called Toyota Financial Corporate - they said they do not care from which dealer the VSA/Extra Care Platinum plan is purchased (in state or out of state). It makes zero difference. I don’t have my plan processed yet but as long as it’s from Toyota Financial it’s tied to my VIN and honored nationwide. No questions asked.

I feel as though there should be some compensation. Ummmm they cancelled my tow without even any phone call, my transmission went out at 1569 miles, I am saying I am a bit upset. It doesn’t hurt to try. I am not bashing the dealership or toyota. ‍♀️
