We refinanced several years back to get the 2.62% and pulled money out then. We also converted it to a 15 year mortgage. We’ve been updating little by little. New windows, floors, bathrooms, and a fully remodeled 900 square foot mother in law apartment downstairs. We know if we stay we have to put laundry upstairs and a kitchenette down. As we get older the caretaker can live upstairs and we will be able to remain on the ground floor…with no stairs haha. That’s the current plan anyway.

I've done a bunch of work around here, almost hate to start over on something else. Closed in the carport, added a 1/2 bath, installed new electrical panel, added an electric water heater, etc. I've done everything myself besides getting some help on the electrical panel by a local TW member who is a licensed master electrician.

If I stay here, the main bathroom will need a complete gut job besides the tub, which is a heavy beast still in good shape. Will be interesting taking a bath for a while, but do-able. That will only happen when we get grandma into an assisted living. There's various grants I could pursue to replace the septic; there's no hope of public coming through here so for now just yearly pumping.

I already have original wood floors, they just need re-finished. That will also be an interesting adventure

We had a meeting at church last night with the kitchen staff for youth, all of us are volunteers but some can't handle one person being in charge to make a decision of.......................the menu each week so the preacher sat us all down and said there won't be any behind the scenes chit-chat.

This all spawned from a person who responded to the group text that was meant for a specific individual. That person wasn't even at the meeting

So what I'm saying is, doesn't matter if you're getting paid or volunteering, people want to be in charge, until it's time to make a decision

Well luckily there was also a wedding on Friday, so I was able to drive my Aunt Shirley home in her van. Which I was reasonably impressed with, it's a newer (not sure of the year) Chrysler Pacifica. I traveled at or near the speed limit all the way and averaged 30.6mpg, not bad for a Chrysler. I wouldn't own one myself, but that's beside the point.

I'm not rich enough for a new truck.

Most likely something like a used 3/4ton or 1/2ton truck with a good tow package. I want something that will comfortably tow my tractor with all it's implements. So probably something with about a 10k+ tow rating.

There might also be a cheap project truck in the future for offroad fun. :mudding:

For now I'll make due with dad's ole Caddy...:burnrubber:

Exciting day getting a big ass fan installed in the WHS just in time for fall.
More news coworker shot himself in the leg over the weekend, guessing he'll be out for a bit. Still waiting on the guy who threatened violence last week with sheriff deputies.
And we are building orders for pickup on the 20th.
