Still out here spinning poodles. Gotta love that cool fall air. Little bit wetter than expected today but I'll take it after eating many buckets of summer dust.

Got one of the new Radial Schwalbes to try out. This one is the Albert 2.5 Ultrasoft trail casing. Just the one for the front, it's replacing a Tacky Chan 2.4 Ultrasoft.

Everything I read says try it at higher pressure so I started off at 26psi. That was immediately way too pingy and deflecting me off line so I stopped and burped it to 24psi which was way more manageable. Tbh I didn't really notice anything that different about it until I dropped into a faster and chunkier trail. It was then when it stood out that the casing has a super muted feeling. It seems to delete the marbles and other small imperfections on the trail and feels super planted. The new tread pattern also works well. The profile is bit more rounded out than the TC and it turns in nicely without a hint of vagueness. Otherwise the side knobs are identical to the TC and give the same solid feel when leaned deep. Overall it did great in some difficult conditions today. I'm real curious to try the radial magic mary on the big bike now.

Nice! That new casing is not just marketing, it really feels different.
The MM is also more rounded (than the 2.6), providing the same fast tip-in and grip you noticed.
After a few rides on the MM radial I'm down to 23 psi, from 21 psi in my normal casing/tire combos. I haven't tried lower, but I will. It just feels so squishy in hand at those pressures it makes me nervous. But at 23 I have't had any rock pings yet, or a hint or rollover. Just bucket-loads of grip and fantastic feel.

I'm pretty impressed with these trail casings. I've been beating on them all summer without a single issue. Granted they are a 1200g tire they don't feel nearly as robust as a super gravity in hand. I normally would be rocking a SG or DD level tire minimum. I'm in touch with reality about my pressures though since i'm 215 geared up and tend to send it hard into the rocks. Schwalbe really has got their casings and compounds dialed in these days. Speaking of days, they're getting awfully short, gotta get those rides in asap. :rain:

Here’s my text copied from Reddit. Yes I’m going to call PayPal, but looking for opinions.

    Potential Scam?

So I’m selling a mountain bike on Pinkbike.com. I’m from the US buyer is from Kazakhstan and wants me to ship to a forwarded in Florida. I told the buyer if he pays I would ship the bike where ever he pleases.

Well, he paid and the funds hit my PayPal, and I transferred to my bank. What risks do I have shipping the bike and if there are risks should I wait till the money clears my bank account. That way hopefully if it’s fake anyone’s CC they could be using would’ve hopefully realized by now. Am I even responsible if they used a stolen card or is that on PayPal and the CC owner or card provider. I’m just trying to make sure I don’t ship a bike and then get hit to refund the entire amount afterwords.

Just got a little anxiety about the situation.

I'd take a read through Paypal's seller protection policies and make sure you adhere to them. For example, you need to require a receiving signature for anything over $750, have proof of shipping, etc.

Can you look up the shipping company in Venice?

    Edit:

On the plus side his account was started in 2017, on the negative side his only activity has been within the last month.

I checked out the business and it seems to have been around since 2011 and the owner Yuriy Yurashin has kept the business license active. Speaks Russian and English so that checks out with his business model.

My dad sold his motorcycle a while back to a company that was forwarding them to Poland. He was apprehensive as all hell, but the guy who bought it was very up front about it being shipped out of the country, not pushy at all, and it got to the point he had no real reservations left other than it was just an a-typical sale. The guy said big displacement motorcycles are not easy to get in Poland so he runs a business importing them.

i'd be apprehensive as hell but....it sounds like everythign is checking out. but that's also why paypal's protection exists.

I'm thinking about going ahead and boxing up everything, but giving it a week or so just to make sure I don't get any credit card chargebacks.
I was reading and if it's a scam and paypal wants the money back, I've already transferred it to my account. Paypal cannot simply pull money from my bank account, but they can place a negative balance on my paypal account that if not paid would eventually be turned into collections. Which I'd then tell them to pound sand.

    Yeah.
I personally probably wouldn't do it, but I'm pretty risk-averse and have trust issues. But I think the risk is probably the same with a US buyer, anyone can try to pull a scam. But I've sold a handful of bikes on PB and never had an issue.

Not really the same since it was still a US address, but I sold an Iron Horse to a guy in Hawaii once after stating on the PB listing continental US only. He basically begged me to sell it to him and paid like $450 in shipping charges. They don't really have much of a choice.

I had a well known guy on pinkbike not ship a fork and went back forth with him for over month. As soon as I made a post in the scammers thread he refunded me the money and asked me to take down the post lol. I told him i'll update the posting that the issue was resolved but he still dicked me around for a month.

Had a friend sell a bike with a Fox factory fork on it with some color matching stickers - unfortunately the stickers said "performance" on it and somehow that was used as part of the paypal claim. The guy he sold the bike to wanted to return it to him, but under the guide of false advertisement. It made zero sense and somehow it went south with Paypal.

I’d have him sign a bill of sale. More protection for you. Clearly state as is with no refunds etc

I agree/ fishy… but so far checking out. . Maybe

PayPal has refunded me twice / I’ve come to trust them for even slightly sketchy online purchases because after ten days I usually get my money back. (Small purchases)

it is 10 business days and I believe that is the time for the seller to work it out with the buyer before they get involved.

Could also do a Google search about a kazi shipping spam and call PayPal

in this market to get your asking price I would probably do it and deal with the trouble for peace of mind.

two years ago I wouldn’t have bothered lol but it’s a tough time
