    Greetings Tacoma World! I don’t have a Tacoma yet… but I do have a 1GR-FE and a 2GR-FKS!

The family road warrior is a 2019 Sienna that’s been from Florida to Vermont and Michigan- repeatedly. Just turned over 120k and I’m taking back over doing my own maintenance to teach my 9yo son. I also have a 2023 4Runner that I picked up in April after my ‘09 Silverado started acting like it wanted frequent trips to spa. Brand new settin’ on the lot, 2WD SR5 “X series”. I don’t much care for the 20” wheels, and the steps are long gone. I’m 6’3”, don’t need no stinking steps!

I have twin daughters soon to turn 13, so the clock has started on finding a good condition something for them to learn to drive on. My first requirement is it must be manual transmission! Not bending on that one. All 4 kids will learn on a manual. Unfortunately that makes my job harder. I’d love to find a gen2 or gen3 quad cab long bed 4x4 MT. I don’t really care about the packages beyond I don’t want a sun roof and I’d prefer a manual transfer case and locking diff, and as little in the way of electronic nannies and crutches as possible (I want a truck not an iPad). Oh, and I want a CD player!!! C’mon toyota, I haven’t had a vehicle without a CD player since my ‘82 280zx from college.

Luckily I found this place and a fantastic channel on YouTube, maybe you’ve heard of The Car Care Nut :101010:. AMD has helped me save so much money on labor in the last several months, and I will be relying on this place and his advise for what to look for on used Tacomas.
