Toyota extended warranty plan purchase

so a 7yr 100k power train does not include any of the electrical systems, that's the areas that are more common to have issues. purchase date on your paperwork and the miles is how you know if its within 3 years of purchase and the odometer shows miles. if you bought it used get me your vin i can get a rough estimate of purchase date pretty easy. you can text me the vin or email me (530)854-0458 or Richard@orovilleautocenter.com

 

The reason he mentioned me is because he is in southern Cali and called all the way up in northern Cali to Toyota dealerships and he got the run around, They mentioned these forums and prices and I was willing to match them without hesitation. unlike jerry and them not being able to sell in California I can because I live here and I can sell nationwide without restrictions. they actually told me about these forums to get my name out to help others. Nothing fishy is going on I promise. I'm not trying to steal customers from jerry just offering service to an area they cant.

 

Can you add this on if you have a 19 with 60k miles?

Thanks for the clarification. For the record what seemed unusual is the person who posted about you only had 2 posts on these forums, so they are not a regular participant. For ultimate clarity, my point is only that if somebody is not a regular participant as established and is recommending services, it is sensible to question motives. That said, I appreciate your responses and having another contact for sales at Toyota in the Bay Area as I originate from there. I'll probably be in touch with you in the future.

Also, it is notable that Jerrry /DOES/ sell to California in contrast to your post. For example, he sold me the 10 yr / 125k Platinum No Deductible warranty for $1795 yet I am in Central California and he confirmed to me over the phone he sells to all 50 states.

yah that's outside of what we can sell, due to it would need to be inspected by a certified Toyota mechanic to get a warranty done so i cant do them remotely

From what I was told was he wasn't able to but that's just what was said to me when someone reached out, I could absolutely be wrong. just going off what people have said when they contacted me. that person had just found these forums and actually put my info out here. again i could be wrong its word of mouth, California has a lot more laws and regulations that a lot of states do not so that's why many states can not sell Toyota warranties in California due to not stating the correct laws on the forms. This information about the laws and regulations on documents in California was told to me by my Toyota rep

** UPDATE**

I called Toyota Financial Corporate - they said they do not care from which dealer the VSA/Extra Care Platinum plan is purchased (in state or out of state). It makes zero difference. I don’t have my plan processed yet but as long as it’s from Toyota Financial it’s tied to my VIN and honored nationwide. No questions asked.

 

I dug into this a bit more this weekend.

I think the confusion arises from the fact that California requires the VSC seller to be licensed in the state of CA as well as meet other criteria including underwriting size and avoid direct (outreach) sales to consumers[1,2]. As far as I can tell, Jerry is meeting these requirements since he is selling through TOYOTA MOTOR INSURANCE SERVICES, INC. (TMIS) which /does/ have a valid and current license in CA [3]. Notably, TMIS is registered as being located in TX which does assuage some concerns about exogenous approved CA sellers. Not legal advice but I think the difference between TIMS and other corps. which were forced to refund warranties was based on lack of licensing within the state at the time of sale [2] or were 3rd party non-qualifying policies [4]. Open to additional interpretations.

Is Jerry still the go to person? I emailed him about 2 weeks ago and haven’t heard back from him.

 

Maybe try calling him to make contact. I bought from him last year and have had no issues and always top notch help/response from him.

Same here - I called him (emails get lost, go to spam folders, etc...), a few months ago, left my name, number and message and he called me back that evening.
Easiest guy in the world to work with.
Talk to him on the phone - you know, like people use to do - and you can bypass the "Some guy told me" and the "Well I heard" load.
Believe it or not we actually have telephones out here in Kansas (where Jerry is located) along with electricity and inside shitters...well, most of us anyway.
Man, the totally false rumors that get started & spread on here are certainly entertaining.

Price ,Date of purchase and all the info needed within a fews days after purchase.

I received the VSA from Toyota about 10 days after buying..
