Dip the plastidip grill mod today. Didn't come out totally perfect up close, but from like 3 ft and further away, looks great. You can see the before pic in my sig.

Looks good. I have never cared for chrome on a truck, plus now it matches your graphics.
    I like it.

I too have not liked the chrome on my truck. Next thing up is the bumper, then the toolbox. Then, my dechrome project will be complete.

Just checked out your truck, looks great. Did you use paint on both the grill and bumper? What kind?

Going to do that soon. Not sure If I wanna use plastidip for that though. I'm thinking I need to bedliner it or something. You think plastidip would hold up down there?

Looks good! I think it would hold up, its pretty durable stuff and if you don't like or it gets messed up all you have to do is peel it off.

Took about 2 hours. After first light coat, did one more coat 30 minutes later, then let sit for an hour and put it back on the truck.

    Yes.
I used Plasti-dip on mine. It is holding up well, even with a lot of off-roading and power washing. The main thing is use caution when removing the tape off the edge. I used a knife to just hold down the Plasti-dip as I pulled the tape... Worked well.

Just do it. It's so easy, just clean and spray. If you dont like an area that you painted, just peel it off. It's really that easy.

My dad got home a few hours ago, saw the grill, and decided we needed to do this to his grill as well. We just finished it up and it looks really good. You can also see the difference between his stock 245's and my 285's here in this pic.

Just a bunch of old crap
Hmmm gotta say it looks too unfinished of a product. Looks the worst on the silver truck but kinda ok on the red one.

Looks like bare plastic right from the factory. I think colormatched is the way to go, with chrome being second. We all have our own tastes though.

^^^^Agreed. Love the grey tacos, with the lower valance. Is it me or is plastidip slowly taking over the world?
