@boston23 . A Bonneville T100 perhaps. Classic looks so if you get one used, it won’t lose much more value when for you’re ready to upgrade

not too powerful but will cruise over 70. Nice riding position.

IMHO the 701 is a much cooler bike. I love the design.

where do you see yourself in a 2-3rd bike? Sport? Tourer? Cruiser? That might help us out.

That’s the hardest question to answer. The husky should have plenty of power for you.

 

First bike? How fast do you want to ride consistently? 50-60 MPH highways, or 70-80 MPH interstates?

 

Thinking interstates, get out of the city….going to have to hit some BLM dirt too so thinking some kind if dual sport. That’s why ai am starting to lean away from Svartpilen

Aside from previously liking a svarty, what aesthetic are you into? You said dual sport.. true dual sport? older scrambler vibe? ADV? How tall are you?

 

Really an inexpensive first bike would be a klx300ds or even klx300sm. Easy to ride. You could put adventure tires on the sm for some dirt.

 

yes but he is wanting to do interstate so that kinda throws the smaller cc dual sports out the window since they just are not made for that. around town they are awesome.

Dang that's a nice one. Yoshi pipe, ohlins suspension, oil cooler, just plain clean all around. Good find!

 

Yeah, except for the care and feeding of 6 carburetors! 6!! Buddy of mine is in an enthusiast group. Rallys and so forth. Those are wonderful machines.

 

How clean it was is what made me stop in the road and go snap a few, that’s when I noticed the cooler, pipes, shocks.

 

Yea, I wasted a few minutes trying to explain that complexity to my wife… I think her eyes glazed over about 30 seconds in.
Heard it start up and leave a bit later, sounded pretty dialed in. Almost got the goosebumps.
