Hello friends. I have a 2022 Tacoma TRD Off-Road that I have had since new, and I love it. What a great truck. I have one big annoyance with it - it has a loud and constant dash rattle. I have tried everything to locate the source and it seems to be coming from within the dash. The reason it's so obvious - besides being loud - is that the truck is so squeak and rattle free! So this one loud rattle drives me bonkers. I'm guessing I'm not the only one? My truck has been treated well, and has not been jumped or off-roaded hard. Mostly highway miles now, sitting at 60K. The rattle developed within the first 10K miles and has persisted. I'm here hoping somebody says "oh yeah that's common and here's how you remedy it." Wishful thinking? I captured it on video, you'll need to turn the volume way up, and headphones help bring out the sound more because it's in the higher frequencies. At one point in the video I zoom in (which changes the audio) and you can hear it better. In person it's plenty loud and obvious.

Definitely had to use the headphones to hear anything. That sounds like it could be a few different things.

1 - something in the glove box?
2 - something rattling near the sunglasses holder or sun visor?
3 - one of the cables or harnesses is moving against something inside the dash. You could pop the stereo out and take a peak?

What shaggy said, remove the radio and glove box, get someone else to drive and investigate the heck out of the rattle. Once you isolate it tie, tape, insulate the area then repeat the drive before putting it back together.

Thanks for your thoughts. Definitely not the visors or anything related to sunglasses. I’ve also confirmed it’s nothing in the glove box. Nothing in the center console, or phone charger cable, or caps over outlets. I’ve had hours and hours of driving to fiddle around with it, press on everything, move things around, empty things out. I’m convinced it’s within the dash.

I didn’t get headphones to watch, but something in the blower (if it was on)?

Not in the blower. Noise happens regardless of blower operation.
