I'm all set up at my place and season opened the other day.
We had a wicked hatch of skeeters here. Even with bug shit I still lose a quart of blood every time I check the cams.
Need a good frost and leaves dropping, then I'll go in the tree.

i missed, in my opinion, all of last season, due to an injury (and I retired at the end of last September) and i usually wait a little, for the weather, but not being confined to the weekends and the weekend traffic, really is inviting, if I can afford the 100 mile round trip. i will go when i can, even if it's just a half day... oh, and it was a 2:45am wake up call today......

I honestly don’t know. I bought this amsteel platform tether for the weight savings and to get rid of that dang metal buckle that always seems to clank on something. I’m pretty sure that diameter amsteel is several times stronger than the 1” web strap that came with the platform if that is a concern. I got the shorter 6’ length one and it is way longer than I even need. In a n 18” poplar now and got a foot or more of tag left on it.

I retired last year as well.:fistbump:

I used to take my vacation time for deer season. Kinda sucked when I was new and only got 2 weeks off and was hunting 2 or 3 states..
Ended up at 6 weeks total, 5 weeks vaca and a week of personal days. Hunted local and still had plenty'o' time for Turkey.
    Seniority had it's perks.

There’s my two feeders right now. Red oaks.

Struck out last eve. Wind from tropical storm was all over the place. Little bit of mist still here on walk in but settled a bit this eve. And jumped a big body deer about 75 yards from the tree. Didn’t wind me so hopeful.

My last 2 years were brutal with injuries and time stood still.
You'll be there before you know it.

Thats what I do, hoard vacation like grim death. November 22 is the only day I work in Nov, and only work 8 days in December.
5 years until I retire, unless they would be kind enough to shut the plant down much earlier.

    :fingerscrossed:
