That would be my guess but using search will get you a solid answer

Ok will do I have been very busy with college lately and even more so since my trucks frame broke again from rust and I had to fix it in an afternoon in between classes.
So progress is going to slow down but not stop.

Okay I have some time tomorrow so can anyone tell me what color of wire on the three wires on the 4Runner seats does what and also I need a diagram on the wiring for the power mirrors so I can add them to my truck as an separate harness without messing with the harness on the taco

The door harnesses won’t interchange so I am adding them separate from the trucks wiring as I won’t modify my main harness in the truck which is the same reason my fuel pump is on a toggle switch.

Okay new side quest, my driveshaft exploded mid cruise yesterday and pole vaulted my truck into the ditch so now this is a one piece driveshaft thread as well, currently I’m running around with it in 4 high and takin it real easy.

I have 8 other vehicles but none are drivable.
Shitbox life, you gotta love it.

On another note I noticed when I was welding my frame back together (Regular maintenance for us 1st gen guys) that my rear shocks do nothing and move with zero resistance, so what shocks should I get that are affordable, I haul a lot with this truck (truck weighs 4,200 unloaded and I have tipped the scales at the scrapyard at 6,800 lbs) and also run on horrifically washboarded dirt roads as I live on them and I do light off-roading, and mudding.

Before anyone brings it up I know that I am overworking the rig and causing a lot of my problems, and I will treat it much nicer once I get my 1961 GMC K-1000 up and running to take over the hard jobs.

I feel like "cruise" may be underselling it if your driveshaft exploded:D

That said, better a ditch than oncoming traffic, glad you're alright!

I was slowing down from 30 to 15 to turn onto the road to my house and it blew up right after I downshifted from 3rd to 2nd.

    Thats a bummer man.

You'll have better luck using search for your shock, driveshaft, and other questions. No one new will see them
in this thread unless they're reading it for other reasons, and they are all topics that have been beaten to death a million times. In a good way, there is so much information, and so many informed, torture tested opinions on shocks, that reading old threads is endlessly informative.

Its how most of us lurkers got here in the first place, lol

Okay I can’t find jack shit for rear shocks other than rough country and Fabtech, also what am I going to do when my front struts go out?
I saw the rough country thread and all I can think to do is use those and put a stiffer lift coil on them so they work.

I should have spent my money on that 4:10 Dana 30 and just did a SAS.

This 6” lift is a pain in the ass. Someone like KYB needs to make a new strut for these lifted trucks as it is an empty playing field for high quality struts.

Also once I get my 1961 impala back on the road then the engine swap will commence.
Sadly I couldn’t find a good 1.9 ALH TDI to put in it so it’s just gonna get another worn out 3.4.

Well it’s starting to get cold around here so I will be starting the engine swap this next week as I need heat and 4wd for the upcoming winter so look forward to that. I will have to take off the front wheels and use a tractor to pull the motor and install the new one due to the lift.
On another note has anyone ever used an XTD clutch as that is what I bought as it was Made in USA. I got the stage 2 carbon Kevlar kit and will reuse my flywheel and clean it up with a flap disk on an angle grinder with the motor running. You will also get to hear my one off custom straight pipe with a dodge resonator so it doesn’t sound all ricey.

By the way is anyone even interested in this thread as I have made 2/3 of the posts here.
If not let me know so I don’t waste my time continuing this thread.

    .Edited/shortened.

I've got eyes on it as well

    Quick note though

You're not really running a traditional build thread, the bulk of your early posts were questions. If you ask said questions clearly and separately in the appropriate forum it will be easier for people browsing to find them if they're interested.

The 6" of lift and a rig you clearly use/mod the shit out of are also a little fringe. I personally love it, but it doesn't seem to be the usual build around here. Or i may have been searching the wrong terms, lol. it seems like alot of folks are searching for specific functionality of one flavor or another, (baja, overland, rock crawling) so it might be a smaller pool of people who have a 6" lift and can share what works and doesn't work.

Hopefully your build thread will provide some of that for folks down the road:)

We'll all be here watching, whether we comment frequently or not

The lift in question is a really old fabtech drop bracket kit that is discontinued and looks like it was put on it when the truck was new as the wheels on it were discontinued about 15-20 years ago and the kit has rusted a good bit. The frame was chopped for the kit. I have a 4Runner frame with those cut off bits that I could use but I am selling that frame as it still has paint marks on it.

Also is my truck supposed to ride like a brick with a kit like this? As it rides like an unloaded 1 ton.

The rear lift is some 3” lift blocks and 90’s ford e-150 van leaf springs as the OME 2.5 lift springs were sacked the fuck out and one bent at a 45 degree angle when I backed into a concrete barrier at maybe 3 mph as I accidentally put into reverse instead of 1st, it was -10 that day so the shifter was really vague and stiff.
I didn’t have $1,000 for new OME trash so I went to my local junkyard and after measuring the NOS springs in their warehouse I found two brand new FOMOCO springs that matched my measurements so I paid $250 for the set and they with light bending of the front hanger bolted in backwards just fine and provided the proper 3” of lift as well as moving the axle back in the wheel well about 1.5” which almost centered it.
