So I'm looking for a cheap band saw on marketplace but I have a chop saw that I've used for cutting metal from time to time, but the blade I have is a little sketchy and I'm scared it's going to explode everything I use it. It's just a giant cut off wheel.

What's a good blade to use for cutting tube? I don't mind spending 50$ for a good blade that keeps me safe. It's a 10" chop saw.

Buy a cold cut and be done. I’m a big fan of my evolutions. Blades are pricy but you will get 1,000+ cuts out of them

I'll spend 100$ to not have a grinding wheel explode in my face

Just make sure your chop saw falls in the RPM window for the blades

Order up a saw then! All I use is a cold cut for tubing. Band saw is just going to slow things down.

You won’t regret getting one! Just make sure you use the proper blades for different materials

I have a 7x12" band saw that has coolant etc. its great if I'm cutting big material or have lots to do while it's cutting, or if Im doing a bunch of the same and can bundle some material together, but it's slow for things like building my cage etc, and messy with the coolant. I don't have a circular cold saw, but I would probably use it more for one off cuts of tube etc.

For building my cage, I end up using my Milwaukee portable band saw a lot because it's super fast and convenient. It's not accurate at all, but I'm notching pretty much all the tubes anyway so I don't need a perfectly straight cut.

Try 10-14 M42 blades for the band saw and ditch the coolant. Thank me later.

This is best thing I've bought from Harbor Frieght, it cuts everything like butter and makes way less mess than a chop saw.

Portable Band Saw and the Band Saw Stand.. there are plenty of YouTube videos about this combo, should check em out..

Wife wants me to get a RTT, which I have always been against but I'm open to something new.

Going to make a bedcage that bolts only to the floor with hoops to support the tent at cab height.

As stupid looking as they are, my RTT was a total game changer. No regrets after the first night of using it. Im due for a new one since I doubt it will last through this upcoming season, I've had it since 2017 with regular use

Put it on a trailer. Nothing worse than having to break down camp just to go on a quick drive.

That's my sentiment, during trips im the only guy with a ground tent who could can come and go as he pleases.

But I don't have a trailer hitch lol

Is it really that hard to fold the tent away though, I can do mine all back up in less than 10mins, I don't fold it out usually until right before bed anyway.

This RTT will be the replacement to what I currently have. It should take less than 5 minutes to button everything up, way faster than rollingbup a ground tent and trying to stuff it in its carrying bag.. plus you're able to store all of the bedding folded up inside the RTT which saves a ton of storage space.
