those are the bumpstops Jerry has to add onto the bumper to help with some of the slack in the latch.

How did the install go for the rear pods? How are the lights performing since you installed them??

Love the diode dynamic light pods. Big fan of the fact that they act as an extra brake light and a reverse light.

As for install, I had to modify the bracket and shave off some of the pod for it to fit flush in the bumper cut out. Here is what the pod looked like before any modifications.

Ever wonder maybe I can rock crawl and not get a high clearance rear bumper? Here's what it looks like after a few months of serious abuse.
My bamf hc rear should be done soon. Can't wait!

a little beta about the hitch. I was the first to get it fabbed up and installed from Jerry…
I’ve bounced around on quite a few longer trips (with rack and bikes on, ~10,000 ish miles on road and hundreds of miles off road) including slow moving rough rocky trails and moderate speeds on fire roads stressing it out, with two bikes on the rack about 70 lbs + 45 lbs = 115 lbs total. ( I’ve even put an ebike on there for a couple short trips (yes I know I’m pushing it). I have tried it on both arms, with Jerry cans and also on the tire side. I have to say that it’s holding strong. There is some deflection of the swingout arm aft from all that extended weight and bouncing, but I don’t see it failing.

Just put my order in for the no cut dual swing and was wondering if anyone in here has attempted to run the velociraptor bike mount with their bumper yet? I’d like a vertical rack since I carry 3+ MTB’s when I’m out with family or friends. The only arm mounted rack I’ve found that would attach to the swing out itself is from https://www.coastaloffroad.com/product-page/swing-away-bike-rack-attachment/
And that’s only two bikes which would probably put me close to the recommended 150lbs on the swingout. Any ideas are appreciated.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
You should be fine with that setup. bringing the bikes closer to the swing arm would help reduce the load on the arm.

I'd be a little leery of using that rack on the swingout if you also planning to carry full Jerry cans or a spare tire with it as well. That rack is about 80 lbs, plus 3 bikes you're looking at 200 lbs. My setup is my bike rack on the same side as my spare. You kind of have to do that unless your spare is small enough that you can open either swingout first. With my spare (34"), I can only open that side first because the tire overlaps the other swing out, so the bike rack has to be on that side too. I've got the OneUp HD, which is about 50lbs, and that alone causes some deflection of the swing out. With two bikes it's at the limit of what I'm comfortable with. Granted your lever arm will be shorter since it's tighter in to the swingout, but it's still a lot of weight. That said, I've had my setup for a couple years now and it's still holding strong. I haven't done any super crazy wheeling with the bike on the back, but it definitely goes off road with me and I love how high up it holds the bike. Helps keep it out of the danger zone!

Here's the deflection on the swing out with spare tire plus bike rack.

For sure. If I don’t go with that I’ll just use a hitch extension with the bumper. Thanks for the reply

It’d be in the driver side alone. I really have no reason to have Jerry Cans or anything like that. The reason for the dual swing out versus the single was for opening it in tight camping areas on trails and loading and unloading at home. The only issue with the arm mounted rack is I carry 4+ bikes usually e-bikes so I think I’m just going to go with the velocirax and a Wilco 8” hitch extender

Yeah I agree, dual swing out is definitely the move for easier access to the back. I think you'll probably be fine w/the arm mounted rack with the velocirax if you're not carrying other stuff on the swingout too. My wheel, tire, and mount are 80+lbs, then throw on 2 bikes and the rack, and I'm at 200lbs, with a longer lever arm. I definitely would be interested in seeing the results if you do go that route! The hitch extension definitely works too, just more annoying for getting in and out of the back.

Arm mounting with the velocirax would be wild. I feel like it would stick out to much on the driver side with the five bike rack which is what I plan to get. I end up being the shuttle guy since I live in between our friend group and the trails here in Southern California. I’m the guy with the kids in the group. I think with the 8” drop down extension and the clearance from lowering the rack will give enough clearance to open the swing out with a 35” spare and lower my tailgate still. Time will tell. I appreciate all the feed back and hope I’m happy with the no cut. I’ve had this bumper in and out of my cart for almost 5yrs unable to man up and just go high clearance. I’ll let everyone know how the setup works out once I get the bumper and rack. The bumper plus 200lbs of bikes on the back will be a fun shit show.

the nice thing about the arm mount is that it’s sits dead center of your rear, just like the bumpers hitch, so there’s no sticking out one side or the other.
