    are you using an open end wrench? you can combine both (open both sides on the nut, and a box wrench on the open end of the original one) to act as a breaker bar sorta thing.

    i was using a crescent wrench on one side.... good idea, thanks or I might just go get a pair of vise grips..... Did I mention I HATE working under the sink!!!!

    vise grips would work well, maybe channel locks if you're having problems with the vise grips...basically use whatever has the longest handle to maximize the torque.
