I bought VF Tune from OTT.
    I expect it to work.
OTT can put far more pressure on the developer than I can.
    If I have a non-functional product I will seek a refund.

    This.

From what I understand, OTT has its own flash kit package that they were out of stock of back in late June/early July.

I am not saying your concerns are not valid. Just realize that @JustDSM doesnt control VF Tune. My two unsolicited cents.

The VFTuner hardware is VF's and not ours. We supply a turn key solution to provide our clients a "one stop shop" so to speak. We own the calibration.

@bgavin - Email me so I can work with you to get your device working if its not. Last we spoke we flashed your truck successfully. If the hardware is inop, let me know and I'll work to get you sorted.

    V/R,

    John

The developer has acknowledged the problems and is in the process of updating the installer again.
I have offered to do field testing of the fixes when available.

Yes, my v2.5 worked correctly and flashed my truck.
However, this fall back is no longer available because v2.5 has been made inoperable.
As of this writing, I am dead in the water.

Then I'll do a remote session and get it working for you.

Received my cable in the mail today and got everything flashed. I have to say, the speed it flashes the tune was insane, I picked the file and clicked flash and 2 seconds later it was done and telling me to cycle the key and start the truck. I first did mild, going around the block it didn't feel very much more sensitive than the OEM throttle so I went back and flashed medium and in my short drive am happy with that setting so far. I will be driving more tonight on a route that I am very familiar with so I'm sure I will get a good impression of how much better it drives with the tune. Big shout out to everyone on the OTT team, especially John for getting everything processed and shipped so fast (I assume that is @Boltripper ) I am really happy with the quick communication, thorough explanations, and service in general. Thank you!

I am also very impressed with the tune itself. My grief is with the new v3 software we are forced to use. My v2.5 worked for me but that version is now disabled and longer available to me.

I haven't flashed for a while but that doesn't sound right. Maybe things have changed but mine definitely took at least 20 or 30 seconds.

I was questioning it too. It has you prepare the ecu for flashing first, then select the file, then flash, almost immediately it said it was loaded. Not sure how to truly confirm it is loaded aside from seeing the difference on a longer drive than the 1 mile I did around the block earlier.

You have to write it after you load it.

A way to test it, is try to read it again, it will be blocked if I recall correctly. (Locked to protect their IP)

You'll definitely notice the difference on a drive too. :)

If you mean when you click the "read ecu" button that's under the "flash ecu" button, When I did click that it just continously kept scrolling saying attempting to read then ultimately failed, forget what exactly it said but remember it was endless loop until the fail to read message popped up.

I suspect your initial flash attempt with Mild didn't actually happen. The write process actually takes more than 20-30sec or so. So if it instantly said "complete" or gave you the prompt to cycle the ignition/start the truck, I don't think it actually initiated the flash process.

Mild should be very noticeable over stock.

Correct, we have read protection/encryption built into the files so they cannot be extracted from a physical read.

It did the same with medium, unless having a 6MT makes a difference in transfer speed maybe it didn't go through properly, guess I will have to try again tomorrow.

Flashing times between manual and auto trucks will be the same.

    Keep us posted!

After reading the instructions again I realized exactly where I went wrong, aside from sometimes being an idiot, when I dropped down the box to select the communication my brain read "tacoma Gen 3" so it must have failed and I missed anything that said so. I selected the proper "Toyota Gen 2 1.5/2mb" and what do you know, it worked haha. Definitely took a solid 1 to 2 minutes to flash. Shame I won't be driving it until probably Tuesday night but at least I have that to look forward to. I once again started with mild so I will see how I like that and go from there.

Finally got to drove the truck tonight and you were absolutely right that even on mild throttle it is a very noticeable change in throttle response! I am thrilled with the outcome so far, absolutely better in every way. Have the 6MT it even makes blipping the throttle to rev match downshifting much smoother. I have a longer trip next weekend that's a good 2 hours of both highway and mountain roads so that will be a great test, can't wait to see how she does compared to last time I went.
