I never realized a 3 port boost controller is only recommended for 2-2.5x spring pressure. That explains why my duty cycle is at 80%+ and still not getting me where I want - I'm running a 6lb spring. Guess I'll change the spring to an 8 or 9lb since I don't want to fork out another 50 bucks for a 4 port...

Also I never really thought about it, but weather and temperature fluctuations (influencing atmospheric pressure) would have a small effect on target PSI duty cycle since the spring pressure is relative, whereas the target pressure is absolute

Now you know why I've got a 4 port haha, and yeah atmospheric stuff plays hell without baro and temp correction.

I should put that Mac valve back in mine and see if I can figure out why it was acting funny

Scratch that, based on the leftover springs I have, it must be a 0.5 bar installed... should have the margin to hit 15psi, but it struggles to hit 12 in most cases...hmm....

in other news, whoever painted my springs is a fucknugget

The springs are literally never painted well enough to decipher haha. You can stack em though, done that a few times.

Has anyone added in a decel fuel cut page?

I'm still looking for some efficiency and found this video talking about it.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8ABmD7bP-o

Does anyone have a file that I can load and mess with? Don't really want to spend $550 to get it from Evans.

    @TMFF
I think Zane and Trey were talking about this 2 pages ago but I could be mistaken.

I'm happy to share a file but it might not be what you're looking for since it's drive by wire and a piggyback ecu set up

I have it enabled and working on all of mine, it doesn't take a whole lot of config to work 90% decent. Is decel function entirely off on yours right now?

Correct it dumps a fair amount of fuel on decel. If you have the page file I can load that would be awesome!
    Thanks

Anyway, here's my current map for an auto. Decel isn't 100% optimized, but it's much better than the base map and works nearly seamlessly with my idle control setup.

    upload_2024-9-14_17-53-1.png
    upload_2024-9-14_17-53-17.png
    upload_2024-9-14_17-53-31.png

As I was saying before, I want to try bringing the min RPM all the way down to 1000, to where it coincides closer with my min vehicle speed.
Min Coolant Temp setting makes the <104* cells useless, so reduction is an option there...
A/C offset you might want to set up depending on how tight your idle control is.
Fuel enrichment is possibly over-rich, but that should be a very minor impact.

One final note is that cut activation offset and engdem could be too high, depending on how you drive. I noticed once going ~55 that I decel'd, put my foot down to maintain speed for a few seconds as traffic changed, and it was such a light throttle that it did not re-arm decel again. But that's probably a rare case.

Hey everyone, Zane said I should pop in and introduce myself! Figured id wait until the pickup was running first! I have the 2rz swap pickup that Zane and I have been working on like crazy. Just had it out for some good rips last night! Excited to meet and chat with you all! Also, to Trey, The gauges are awesome, and have been working wonderfully on my FD RX7 since we got the wideband sync issue sorted out! Great work!

Glad to hear its still running well! You are welcome to send me a new file with all the long term trimming if you have put some miles on it and I can smooth it out into the map! Can't wait till you are ready to turn up the boost a bit! We hit almost 9psi in the 2rz today on a drive. It's pretty fun!

About that, I turned my manual boost T up 5 clicks (baby steps) for shits and giggles before driving to St George and back yesterday, it bumped my max psi back to 4.1psi
heading up Black Ridge my coolant stayed below 193 so that makes me happy, part of that may be the ambient tempts were about 30°f cooler than my late July runs
    (winter is coming)

I put about 160 miles in the truck since that little bump and did some more logging that's been uploaded to the laptop and ready to send.

I did throw another DTC but forgot what it was, some 600 number about an abs sensor.

Cold starts are pretty quick but warm starts can be a little on the cranky side. Its starting faster than it was a month ago so we're still heading in the right direction.

Only other thing of note is I'm idling around 1200 rpms in park (or neutral) but that's kinda helpful when I want it to cool down before shutting it off.

Still no more stumbling or hesitation under heavy throttle. :hattip:

Ordered a front ABS sensor (previously had an old cutoff one as a blockoff) and a VR to Hall signal conditioner so I can use a front wheel for my speed signal. My debounce circuit for the speedo cluster would work but it's too costly to produce in a nice PCB for the maybe 5 people that need one. In which case this other solution is more elegant provided you have an ABS spindle.

I'm quite a bit newer so it's probably different but I have popped a P0642 code a few times now, is this something that may pertain to me?

Where are you popping this, on the Haltech or the stock ECU?
