Upgrades you regret

I actually think a decked system would be good for winter, ice fishing season I wouldnt mind being able to put much of my gear in the drawers so the heavy stuff doesnt crush any of it while going over the frozen lakes bouncing around.

But summer I would need to take it out and store it as I need the full bed.

 

If it makes you feel any better, I've been working on a basement renovation for ten years now. So don't feel too badly about your antenna.

 

Right there with you.... 2016 was when I sheet rocked and put in the floors.... still have not painted it, all the lights are still just hanging by wires.

 

Not really a regret, but perturbed that Wildpeak AT4's came out with a 33" 255/85/16, right after I invested in 17" rims to fit 255/80/17 AT3s 33" pizza cutters.

Never saw it coming.....

Other than that, love every mod I've done, as I've done my homework on each and every one of them before the purchase.

My wife will sometimes sit next to me on the couch down there, and point to the gap in the trim she's been asking me to finish for the last five years...

Regret is a pretty strong word, as most of it is just part of the journey.

But yeah, audio. I started with the Subaru tweeter upgrade. Meh. Then upgraded speakers. Meh+. Then added a Kicker Key amp. Louder Meh+ drowning in tweeters. Then replaced all front speakers with a set of component speakers and switched to running the Key in bi-amp mode. That's better! Still running the stock HU -- the Key amp cleans up the sound really well if you run the calibration properly.

Not really regretting it, and kinda figured I might end up here, but I got the Fox Performance Elite shock + Deaver Expedition Stage II spring kit from Accutune. Love the ride, not regretting it. Then I got 285's. I still love the ride, but now the truck is too bogged down and geared too tall to ever use 6th gear, and it rarely sees 5th. Not liking that. So I now have 5.29's sitting in the garage about to be swapped in. Should have done this from the beginning.

 

no real regrets, but there are certainly a lot of mods I would not do looking back, simply because I don't need them.

Suspension and my offroad bumpers are probably the biggest "regrets", as I don't use any to their full capacity.

 

My favorite is easily my air horn

 

I just thought adding a bit more power into the factory speakers would sound a bit better as they sounded underpowered, but the upside is they did end up louder

I'm powering the speakers with a Kenwood Excelon X802-5

That is exactly what I did. I started with soundproofing first and then upgraded all my speakers. Head unit is next leaning towards Kenwood or a Pioneer.

 

You are not ... it rests against the black fender flare plastic on the Off Roads ... whats the big deal?

I removed the tether and lock the cap in my glove compartment while I pump gas, to make sure no one steals it.

 

Download a equalizer and bass booster app and it will help a lot.
