And to you as well :)

I finally heard back on a couple jobs I recently interviewed for. Damn HR person sent me a direct email on Sept 4th saying "We'll get back to you shortly on the next steps". I had sent him 3 follow up emails over the next 2 weeks asking politely for any status changes, copied the hiring manager on the email yesterday morning. I have still never heard back from the HR guy, and my application status in my Candidate web portal shows "Interview in progress" on both applications (they are for two different positions under the same Manager, which I didn't know until I interviewed with the Manager). The feedback I got from the hiring manager was "Position A was postponed until 2025 due to budget issues. Position B we filled with an internal candidate that had previously worked on my team, so he was a well known scenario." I don't know WTF is going on with this HR Recruiter, but he's apparently asleep on the job.

About a month ago, I was doing a lot of heavy weed / plant cleanup right around the front of out house. Pulling weeds, trimming ornamental trees, etc.. About a few days later, I started to develop a nasty red rash on my arms, legs, even my sides. Wife and I thought it was Shingles, as I had Chicken Pox in high school, and do not have the Shingles vax. But it wasn't at all painful, nor itchy. Well, a couple days later, it did start to itch. Like a MoFo, but only at certain times of the day, and naturally when I went to bed. Wife went looking around more closely at the areas where I had been weeding, took some pictures of the remaining weeds, used Google Lens.... Poison Ivy. Frak!!!! It's mostly gone by this point, 6 or so weeks after, but I still have some red patchy skin, and some itchy areas.

I am very familiar with what Poison Oak looks like, as it is all over rural northern CA where I had lived for the lat 30 years before we moved to Kentucky. but I had never lived where I knew there to be Poison Ivy, so it never occurred to me to look for that.
