It was not expensive but I regret getting a weather tech bug deflector. It rubbed and rested on the headlights and I didn’t like that. Also I didn’t like the way it deformed the hood rubber seal. I thought over time it would damage the seal. So I took it off after two days put in the back, ended up giving it to some guy at a gas station that had a late model taco.

here is a bit of blasphemy: bed mat.
First thing i bought. Then i got a tonneau cover and made a removable bed partition to make it easy to haul small things like groceries. I found i hardly ever need the mat, even when i reconfigure partition for a larger haul, and no use lugging it around. so it now sits on the floor of the garage waiting to be needed.
would i sell it? no way. would i buy it again? probably. not exactly regret but sure is not used as i thought it would be when i bought it.

 

My truck came with a bed mat. I took it out when I installed my Decked Drawer system but I kinda miss having it in there. Kept things in place pretty effectively. I think I might put it back in...

 

I bought some meso stuff used,and its all heat warped and doesn't fit..junk

 

Would you be willing to let it go for some cash?

 

I regret a spacer/block lift on a 1st gen 20 years ago. This is a good thread that should be required reading with the usuals... what lift should I get? what tires fit?

Yup... and aftermarket headlights and taillights... The only modified Toyota truck that comes to mind that withstands the test of time is the Back to the Future truck. The current trendy stuff usually ends up in the high school parking lots and junk yards.

 

Raptor lights! Didn’t want 3 or 4 so I bought two sets of four. Got them in amber and when they arrived they were to bright in the black grille. They stood out to much, but I thought well maybe they will grow on me. Went to install and they didn’t fit in the OEM grille. They were to small and the instructions said to put electrical tape around the edges. The last straw! They went into my old parts bin to stay.

 

Getting rid of the paper cone crap stock speakers is the first thing to do for better sound, if you haven't already. I went budget with kickers and the kicker key amplifier on my stock HU. The upgrade in sound quality was incredible. I've put dynamat in my doors and the back wall, as well as felt taping most every pop-in-connector and plastic contact point to mitigate all the damn rattles. It has been a lot of tedious labor, but worth it to me.

 

You won’t regret your choice once you do that . The sub and speakers are what will be the game changer for sure 1000 percent . Very important

 

I really, really regret getting a Prinsu roof rack. This was a couple years ago but I’m still mad at myself for buying it.

As soon as I took my first drive with it on the truck, I knew the wind noise and MPG hit was too much for me. That sucker made more noise than the 2 sets of mud tires I’ve ran on the truck; I guess I should have thought about that as a possibility but the thought never occurred to me that it would be that loud.

Removed it very quickly and was left with the holes in the roof that leaked at first because they are tedious to seal properly. Not to mention the jacked up trim pieces on the roof. Prinsu makes a great product but man was that a huge mistake for me.

 

I previous post voiced regret getting a bed mat but I’ve been thinking of getting one. I thought it might help to keep stuff from sliding around in that plastic bed. It is slick back there. Looking at getting the OEM mat from the dealer. Would like to hear more from those that regret getting a bed mat and the reasons why. As far as the tonneau cover, my 2022 truck came with one new. I’ve had to take it off twice to help friends move. The dang thing weighs almost 90 lbs. Fix’in to have to take it off again. I may just leave it off this time.
