Agreed. Just like the 4th Gen which immediately turned me off from the new Taco. They have forgotten it is a truck.

The thing is I work in technology so I love it. There just is a line that has to be drawn. For me it's when they do away with simple controls for things that a knob or a switch would be great and put it on all a screen. Keep It Simple Stupid you know?

I removed the ridiculous spare tire theft deterrent... more like a spare tire use deterrent.

I also finished undercoating it with oils and waxes and grease.

No, I didn’t see any lint, wood, bits of old newspaper, etc. so I thought I would wait on that. Although, I guess I could have.

The spare tire theft deterrent is like a wheel lock in a cone that is just stuffed into the keyway of the spare tire lowering thingy. It doesn't stay engaged very well. No instructions included w/the truck... generally useless.

There is a loop on the tire picker upper part where you could put a padlock.

I thought it was a padlock in that tire-picker, but the loop is so small that you would need a titanium padlock, and then the thief would just cut the tab with the padlock.

Was that your factory battery? I still have mine in my ‘19. Wonder if I should replace it before winter gets here, just in case.

It was, indeed. Was doing fine up until a few days ago. Needed my jump starter the last 2 days at work to get me home.

I have replaced my OEM battery 2x. If it can't sit for a week without loosing a charge or it cranks slowly after sitting for the weekend then I suggest replacing before winter.

I had my mechanic do a full brake job at 150000klms and and 8 years old. When I got it back the brakes were no better and felt spongy. I will be doing a brake flush myself.
