So my buddy talked me into taking my truck to the strip this friday night(DRAG strip, not the club, thats Saturday :D) I have never been before, so I've obviously never raced on one. Any pointers or advice? Traction control on or off? Any help really lol

Auto or manual? Try to have no more than a quarter tank of fuel in the truck if you can. If you have anything heavy in it, sub box, tools etc. take them out. every little bit matters.

    First question is why?

Here's a little advice for the strip:
Drive around the water box, and do not do a big huge smokey burn out.
Once you're staged (2 yellow lights lit up) hit the gas when you see the last of the yellow lights come on.

And leave the gear selector in "4" instead of "D"

Have to agree. What is your truck going to run? 15s? maybe 16s?
It will be a fun experience but your not fast enough that you can have a some fun on an on ramp without breaking the law!
