Anyone have experience with core support repairs or replacement? Mine is cracked on the driverside inner fender(under the battery). I know it can be welded or have JD inners installed, what is the best option? Fenders and batt relocation kit is 2.5k for parts, so I’m unsure if its worth the coin overall.

    Yes
The problem is a few things, frame flex, battery weight and the soft OE body bushings. You can’t fix the frame flex without a full cage so relocating the battery to the cab or bed is the best solution then replace the core support bushings with the energy suspension poly bushings. JD inners will not solve that problem, their battery relo kit will.

Hope everybody is doing well! Now that it’s not 105+ every day things can get back to normal. That was a bunch of BS!!

And the hydraulic motor on my lift decided to die a couple days ago so that’s super fun!

What a coincidence, that would make exactly two of us so far!
But looking at the bright side or at least fabricating one, its not as hot since my manual labor percentage will be a bit higher than usual so I have far less to complain about I suppose.

BTW that Tuna was memorable, I have one pack left and every bit of it was SUSHI!!! Hmmm, I will be pulling that piece tonight for tomorrow. :headbang:

I might go to OW first weekend on October for a boy's trip, let me know if you want to come out.

Any recommendations for places to paint vehicles? The roof paint is starting to deteriorate.

Thanks Jason @Speed Freek for squeezing my truck in this week. Got the MC front end brace installed and cam tab gussets(with skid trimming) , coilover bearing swap and inner fender crack repair. Excellent work as always.IMG_6761.jpg IMG_6763.jpg IMG_6764.jpg

I just had my 06 Painted at Maaco on Kearny Villa Rd back in Dec 2023. Looks killer. you probably have 4-5 years before the clear coat and base coat fails and it's down to bare metal like mine was. the hood is not far behind.

@Pabloeeto Looks good. Was that the good, better, or best package? Mine is long overdue. I was in TJ last week and stopped by Taller Los Ponchos, a well regarded paint shop. I was quoted 3K and he wants the truck for two weeks. Not the deal I was expecting.

3400 including some dents I had them fix and the extra body work since the roof had surface rust. It was the 2 stage base coat/clear coat package.
