It has its quirks but coming from a 3rd gen Tundra, at least it won’t leave you on the side of the road

They’re currently at 35 cold which go up to ~37 while driving. The roads aren’t terrible. Potholes and wavy patches of roads are noticeable but definitely not jarring. Honestly I think the shocks make a big difference. I went from the trail edition Hitachi shocks/springs to Bilstein 6112/5160. Those hitachis felt like 2x4s

thanks, that's good to know. I've had my eye on those Bilstein's as well. Maybe next year.

Don't know where you live but I believe some places have a lemon law. Sounds like you have one, lemon that is.

I highly recommend them! They were less than $900 on rock auto for everything, I just reused my oem front strut hats

The Tundra is a disaster. In fact Toyota is on the whole IMHO.

I do believe when people say the Tacoma has it's quirks, is just sugar coating how incredibly awful the Tacoma is. It's by far the worst driving truck I've owned in every aspect. I can't wait until it's gone. I see tons of almost new 3rd gen's on dealer lots. Yes they sold a lot of them, but a lot are being sold right back.

In Ohio it would need to spend 30 days in the shop. Most of the issues don't cause catastrophic failure. I'm just going to sell it, eat my losses and move on. It's not the end of the world, just a big waste of time and aggravation.

Sorry to hear about your experience, but mine has been problem free for six years. The other Toyotas in my household have also been flawless. I would have no hesitation buying another 3rd gen or a 4th gen Tacoma if mine were to be totaled, or possibly a new Tundra. I love this truck and plan to keep it for a very long time. When I do replace it, it will almost certainly be with a current gen Tacoma or Tundra.

Why don't you just sell the fucking thing if you hate it that much? Or maybe you are from those generations that just likes to publicly cry about everything?

BuiltRight bed molle panels. The cab (front) pieces are great, the side pieces aren't compatible with an MX-4 tonneau - or anything that relocates the bed rails. Also incredibly expensive for what they are.

I feel the same way every time I read a "never buy the first year" posts. I feel like my 2016 should have exploded multiple times by now. Like, maybe I should check the garage and confirm it's not exploding as we speak.

    ...what is that noise, anyways.

only thing I regret is not researching tire load range enough. The e rated falkens are heavy and uncomfortable

I did far too much reading and my truck had e-loads on it when I got it so I said fuck it and stuck with them. Still questioning my decision.
