OME lift plan. Will I regret this?

I'm sure you all get asked this type of stuff all the time, but (as everyone else also says) I didn't see anything in the forum that looked specific enough. Here goes:
I'm looking at getting the OME lift from toytec. I've got a 2003 4x4 extended cab. I don't do much offroading presently, but I'd like to sometime in the future... My plan is to get the 883 medium coils so that I don't have to use a top plate spacer. Most likely going to get a Westin Bull bar with some fog lights sooner or later, so I figure that will offset any initial stiffness in the front (No "That's what she said".) I keep hearing people talk about Dakar (complete leaf pack? Add-A-Leaf? Not sure...) for the rear lift, but I don't see that as an option on the order form on toytec's website and I don't really want to buy each part from a different place, so I'm eyeing the Toytec 2" Add-a-leaf. I also plan on getting the LR UCA's... I heard the diff drop kit causes big problems, but I was thinking I would get it anyway? 30 bucks extra, oh well, I can install if later if I want. I am wondering about the optional extra $100 charge for front shock assembly. Since I plan on installing the lift myself, and don't really know how to use a spring compressor, does "front shock assembly" mean I won't need the compressor? After the lift is installed I'm hoping to get Pro comp 16x8 Rockcrawlers with possibly 285's. Am I gonna need wheel spacers to do that? I don't want to trim. How about 275's? If I can do that without spacers, I might. Alright I shot my wad, let me know if anything doesn't add up! No hurry, I probably won't have enough saved up until the end of the summer, but I figure I'll get an early start in case I need to recalculate...

I got the same lift. The medium coils with a brushguard on the front.
Also have the AAL in the back.
Can't speak for the drop kit since I'm 2wd.
Didn't upgrade UCAs since it wasn't more than 3" of lift.
Great lift without any problems so far and had it for a little while.
Also running 285/75/16 KM2 and I needed spacers on the front wheels because they rubbed the frame.

Edit: I didn't want to spend the extra $100 so I rented a compressor from Auto Zone and it took 3 of us with two hammer drills to compress the coils...
Needless to say I was holding the coil while two buddys with the hammer drills going in my ears...we made a hole in the garage floor and I couldn't hear for a bit.

OME 885's, 90000 and n182 shocks, CB drop, 295/75/16 Hankook Dynapro MT RT03's, 16"x8" Pro Comp 7089 wheels, Avid Off Road Light Bar, Magnaflow 12226-14'' Muffler dumped after axle, color matched grille, Team Realtree camo seat and steering wheel covers, Husky floor liners, towing hitch, bed extender, Tacoma bed mat, all black emblems, black sockmonkey decals, bedlined rear bumper.
-the leaf packs ride softer than an AAL, but more expensive
-ucas are a good idea and will get better alignment
-the diff drop has proved to be ineffective for most, and the others actually had more problems
-the pre-assembled coils/shocks will help you out a lot and save time if you are doing it yourself. it's worth it
-if those wheels have 4.5 backspacing then you won't have a problem with the 285s, other than trimming some plastic

883s may be a little stiff for an extended cab but should work. Don't count on a bull bar to weigh you down though. I would suggest getting a beefier skid plate instead. Westin, Aries, whatever it is serves one function only: a place to mount lights. Budbuilt and skid row make great skids and if you do get into wheeling later you're going to wish you had one. The rear really depends on your leaf pack. If it's shot I'd suggest a new pack instead of an aal. Mine was shot and I used an aal and I'm looking at 500-600 to redo it all. Don't forget the items that you think you won't need for the rear, longer u bolts may be necessary for a new leaf pack, carrier bearing drops will help if you have take off vibes and extended brake lines are just cheap insurance over ripping a line and paying big bucks to get everything fixed. As for your issue with the diff drop, it seems that a lot of second gens have issues with it, but I don't know of any 1st gens that are affected adversely from one. I run a diff drop myself and it helped a lot with my highway vibes.

Thanks for the info! Now that I think about it, what kind of backspacing could I get away with if I choose to run the 275's instead of 285's?

Don't know who makes 275s but it depends on height as well
