I have a 2005 Tacoma TRD. The fan has stopped working on high, it works on all the lower settings. I have see the issues with the fan not working on the low settings but cannot find anything on my issue. Has anyone had this issue?

    Blower motor resistor?
Take a peek, and check if the pins, wiring, pigtail, or the resistor looks bad.

start there, I had to replace mine.
I tired Amazon, it failed twice, went with Toyota brand and no issues since.

The other threads stated the resistor is only used for the lower settings but I will check it out. I want to check the pins and connections to see if there is an indication of loose or burnt connections. Thanks

The resistor is by-passed on High Speed.
Most of the time, it's the actual speeed switch on the dash.
The pin gets burnt and looses contact.

    That is correct.

The switch is EASY to remove.
The panel that holds all 3 switched just prys out.

Thanks, I just watched a video on getting the fan switch unit out. I will check all the connections on the switch and also the motor to look for the cause. Thanks

It's a known issue. Should you find yours burnt.
@Dm93 did a DIY on prevention in the future.

I haven't done it to mine. Because I'm lazy, I like to procrastinate, and I don't generally like working on automotive stuff. Should mine ever have an issue. I'll have a good reason to be throwing a fit while I work on my truck. I don't feel like I've successfully completed a job if I haven't had at least one meltdown during fixing it.....:D

TnShooter, thanks for this information. It shows which terminal to look at and I can trace that to the motor connector to check out both ends. I hope I don't need to use this fix but will see.

Thanks, this is good info, I like the pin out info. Now I need to get out there and start the investigation.

OK, I took everything apart and did not see any burned connectors or obvious issues. When I put it all back together it worked on all settings, go figure. The only thing I can think is one of the connections came loose or the switch has an issue. For now I will accept that it is working. Thanks for all your help.
