Is it too early to start packing for Bayfield? :blahblah:

Doing some rearranging and eliminated a couple ratchet straps with a different tie down for the spare.

You know, at least with a topper I could stand that spare up and gain some room.

Why can't the spare live in the factory location? I have a 33 tucked up under my bed. Just took some mild persuasion of the metal locators.

    That's a good question.

It isn't the fit issue, it is thinking the spare is vulnerable to getting hit.

The rock bridge is not friendly to 32's.
It juggles them around like a cup of bar dice and rolls them out the other side.

They make Soft-Toppers every day. Just sayin'.

    ;)

Personally, I don't prefer to have the spare underneath when I'm off-roading. Dragging it through all the mud and rocks, I started getting concerned about damaging the sidewall, or the wheel even.

That's fair. I guess I've been more worried about my rear bumper than the spare which in fairness is reasonably resilient. I wouldn't want to drag it across some sharp edged rocks.

You should be trying to wreck your bumper so that you can rationalize a steel bumper more easily.:D

This right here. My poor RCI bumper has been hit, bashed, smashed, crumpled, smacked, whacked, canoodled, and submerged.

    Almost time for a replacement.

Good think I got a beefy costal bumper with fresh paint sitting in @Sasquatch3153 's garage :D

Okay, as promised some maps. This is the route for Friday the 4th. Shouldn't be more than 3-4 hours... depends on how successful we are at getting stuck and needing to winch. Won't be like last year... I will never be able to top that one, but there is a mud hole and maybe you can sneak by and maybe you can't. Was legitimate mud to the top of my tires, so its deep.

Here is day two. this is a super freekin fantastic tour of the Barrens if I do say so myself. I am figuring 4-5 hours but may take more if we stop a lot. So much to see and at least three distinctly unique biome environments. There is some tight and scratchy but only one spot that has me concerned for stock trucks. Not a biggie as it is sand not anything that can cause damage, but some may get tripped up and winched up...

Make sure everyone is in 4Lo for the sand. (Thinking about any stock vehicles)

Too easy to spin a cv when traction breaks loose

I thought I was the last one to have a stock truck...
