I started with that but it was having a heck of a time cutting through. It did take out the first layer, though.

I discovered that if you just scored it with the manual edger, that was enough to perforate the overgrowth to be able to kick it loose.

All I ever did as a landscaper. I got pretty good at it too. First pass with the weedeater going clock wise knocking down the tall grass and establishing the buffer. Second pass walking backwards going clock wise with the weedeater to set the edge. Then mow with lines either at a diagonal or parallel with the street so people passing by wouldn’t see the lines. Quick and efficient and looked amazing. Plus it worked on all lawn’s including those free form lawns with lots of curves. It also saved on the pieces of equipment that were needed to do the job.

I have jack oil, levels are good and system is bled but she still won't go up more than about an inch.

Any easy things to look for or should I start shopping?

start shopping. the seals are likely going bad, and replacing the seals is more like a full engine rebuild on a rotted out truck...

    It's a very old Pro Lift F-365.

A quick search and watching part of a video says soundman is right. She's not worth the effort to fix.

This one's good. I bought 3, returned one due to defect. The other 2 are still holding up fine. Otherwise check Costco.

These type of people are everywhere. The sooner one learns about not taking the bait, the better.
And she’s wrong, looks nothing like an apartment mailbox.

Had an interesting day yesterday. Needed to fall a tree at a friends house, or more like I was there to assist. It was in a precarious position so the idea was to tie it to the mini-backhoe and swing it when it started falling down. That didn't work...

It started falling, pulled on the rope and tried to take me and the backhoe with it

Didn't even mark the corner of the house. Only casualty was it knocked my water bottle on the ground. So, it went wrong, but right at the same time. Also pretty much burned up my little Ryobi chainsaw, so there is that. I've abused the snot out of that little 16" saw; finally started losing compression. I'll pony up to an Echo or something in the Spring.

When I was recently searching for a new to me smallish saw I looked at Echo, they felt cheap to me. Wound up with a Husqvarna 440 from a pawn shop that looks brand new for $100 less than new price.
