So just did a video chat with Alex the guy who wants to buy the FZ1. He seems serious but I won’t be excited until I have cash in hand. We will see.

 

He told me I can have any meds I want. One of the benefits of working in a hospital

They alternate b/t oxygen pill and demerol iv every 2hrs. The oxygen knocks me out everytime.

 

Oh man! I hope your coworkers didn’t ask you for an honest appraisal of them as you were coming off the anesthetic.

Picked up the bike I inherited from my great uncle. 2006 Yamaha Stratoliner. Battery was dead so it sat on a charger all day, so I just got to fire it up tonight but haven't ridden it yet. I'm not real big on chrome, and this has a lot of it. Gotta do some research on best route to chrome delete.

 

Ouch! Last weekend trip too wasn't it? Hope recovery goes well with nothing lingering afterwards.

Well Alex sent me a screen shot of maps at 1:15 am and he is on his way. His GPS said he would be here at 6:30 pm tonight. That’s just freaking crazy driving that far for a motorcycle. But hey who am I to judge? I will keep everyone posted. Hopefully he has an uneventful journey and everything works out.

Got out for the weekend. Much needed. Bike did great. Maxxed out the ventura rack. This is gear for 4 days. Tent/Chair/air mattress/Sleeping bag/rain gear/off bike footwear/off bike clothing/water bottles/tools/electric doodads for charging whatever and camera stuff.

Less miles than usual for this weekend - 600 total - but we were shut down by rain on Sunday afternoon. Kentucky has some amazing riding opportunities.

Winter is coming. Ride accordingly.

You think a dealer would give you more than $5K for a 12 year old FZ1 which they don't even make anymore? I don't think any dealer would give you near that especially over $5K on trade.

 

Yes I actually went in and and got info on a 2024 gasgas 700. They said they would give me $5500 plus tax credit for the trade.
Also why is 12years old too old? It’s all about condition, miles, service and how it was taken care of. This whole idea that age has anything to do with the price something is worth makes no sense to me. So with that thinking when a bike isn’t made anymore it isn’t worth as much?

 

That dealer is crazy!
