My ex father in-law had one and rode the crap of it. Wrecked it twice and finally sold it. They are tanks, but that 1800 is smooth as silk and tons of torque.

Nothing like arm chair appraisals. Seems as if everyone is an expert. Good thing your opinion doesn’t matter.

It is all about book value to a dealer. Age does play a factor. But they do not care about mods or how clean it is, unless it is wrecked. You get the tax credit no matter what you trade in on new so that really isn't a factor. KBB is showing about almost a grand less than what your dealer quoted. I know KBB is not the gospel but is a good gauge. I never said 12 years old is too old, but most dealers will not work on anything over 10 years old, and to some that is a problem if they cannot work on their own bike.

just a couple of things tbh
its an older bike with if i remember right higher ish miles.... idk what dealer would give you that but if they will maybe you should just see if they will just buy it off you for that price.. since you can look at kbb and it will say okay its worth 4500 but they now have to make money off it so they wont normally offer you 4500 they will do 1k or 2k less its the same with cars....

I couldn't even get a local dealer to give me 3k on a cbr 600rr back in the day. That dealer can also get f*cked. Every time I've been there it is not enjoyable

its just how it is:notsure: i know some bikes hold value like crazy but others just dont.

my bolt was a great deal but if i went to sell it now id get about what i paid for it or a bit less with how many miles it now has on it. no matter its in great shape and been extremely well maintained or modded.. also most dealers want a stock vehicle not a modified vehicle unless its like an exhaust from my personal experience

Wife has been getting a little discouraged riding around the neighborhood in Kent. Being surrounded by busy arterials and a lot of cars zooming around and pulling out of driveways, running stop signs and such within the neighborhood has been sucking the fun outta getting in practice.

I decided to look around and find somewhere we could actually hit a road we could cruise a few miles without dealing with driving from our house out of the city. I was introduced to this campground after the Scout factory tour last year where we did a big group campout, and thought it'd work.

It's between Ellensburg and Yakima, along the Yakima River. While I was waiting to see if my wife was down for it, I started googling places to ride in Washington, and found this road the campground was on was actually listed on a few websites as a popular ride. We saw quite a few motorcycles ride by as we were camped there. Overall she enjoyed it, and thought it'd be a great place to go back to for more practice. Was good practice for me, too. Was my first time experiencing the wind of a semi heading in the opposite direction, for example. The fact my wife handled all this on her first time getting the bike over 25, lol, I think she did really well. Even if the tailgaters were stressing her out (she was only doing the speed limit, or a couple MPH more, and everyone wanted to do 55 in the 45).

You sure do run your mouth a lot. Do you ever shut up or are you like this in real life too? You're in Alabama? We're in Seattle, the 9th most expensive city in the world. Things are different here than the bumfuck South where you live

Unfortunately I don't know if I can take time off work to go! Also I'm not sure I want to try another track yet. If anyone ever gets up to Thunderhill I'd love to meet up!

The only downside being the bike eats rear pads super quickly... otherwise I love the linked brakes!

Looks like an AWESOME japan trip. And +1 I have never gone through rear pads as quickly on something even on a dirtbike than the super tenere. You gotta watch out you will be metal on metal before you know it.

Mine went metal on metal, I figured "let me use only the front brake" and then remembered the linked brakes.

oh shut your mouth you old shit... im talking about my experiences with it and in the market of vehicles lmao. i do not give twooo shits on where you live the market is just how it is.

you cant even get where im located at correctly so go sit in your corner and shut tf up. im a blunt person and say how it be. now i was not trying to be rude towards him but stating how it has been here in my area for the market and how things work and how most dealers see things that ive dealt with.

also last i checked this is a public forum and we can all talk to each other about different things as much as we want? dont like it go else where..

those are good miles tbh! my mistake on that part! i do still think 5500 is a stretch but for the right buyer they might just go for it or if that dealer is willing to offer it to you id take it! mainly since you seem to be a bit unhappy with the bike and can lead you towards something you would rather have.
