OK so this happened. I suspect it got knocked off in the car wash (they don't have it). I got a replacement cover from toyota, but I can't get it to go on. Is there a trick or technique I need to be doing? Oh,and of course, where do you want me to put my man card?

You can just buy a body colored mirror cap and clip it back on.

I think I've got it. It's nearly perfect. I might try to tuck an edge in with a micro screwdriver tomorrow. But it's on there!

Order a new painted mirror cap from the dealer, eBay or somewhere else. They don't cost a lot. Then lightly press around the edge until it clips back into place.

If the car wash knocked it off, it was not on right to begin with, or that car wash is not set up right. My only bad experience with a car wash has been a bent antenna, and not on my Taco but on my company’s F150.

Had the same thing happen to mine... not the car wash though. Thought my whole mirror was gone and was so happy when it was just the front cover.

I took both of mine off to install the Cali Raised blue tint Wide View Side Mirrors, the covers clip in by pushing them.

**Side note, their install video jumps ahead when taking them off, I can only assume, because they didn’t want you to see them break off one of the center bracket clips that are nearly impossible to unhook without breaking it off. Secured back just fine even after I broke them.

I can tell you this mine were difficult to remove..broke one tab removing them...

I also had trouble putting the passenger side back on wouldnt fully snap in. I had to start at the bottom and hold pressure as I worked my way around it but it finally snapped in.
