Hey friends, while I’m idling in park and depress the brake pedal to shift into Drive, there is an audible ‘Clicking’ sound that I can hear and feel through my shifter. Is this normal or something I should address when I take my truck to get an oil change at the dealership?

I tried to use the search function and didn’t see anything about this issue so I’m hoping it’s normal.

    Thanks in advance guys

Normal to a degree depending how loud the click is

Thanks for the response man. It sounds and feels like as if someone is flicking my shifter. I’ll bring it up to the dealership, hopefully is nothing serious.

I would imagine this is the brake releasing the lock mechanism to shift into R or D ? Without pressing pedal, you cannot shift out of park. Very likely your source

Had the same click after I had the dealer swap a rear diff pumpkin on my old 3rd gen. Never did it before, but it wasn’t an issue other than the noise.
