I know you don't want to hear this but you are going to have to get that truck running again if you ever want to sell for it anything respectable. Not hating on you just the truth.

 

Dead project sells for much less than running/driving project. Even if you have to slap some used Craigslist TH400 in it to get it moving again. Part out probably nets more than broken project even

 

For articulation purposes, you’ll want to keep poly bushings somewhere in the system. I run Delrin for the upper shackle pivot but poly on the leafs themselves.

Shockingly enough. I wouldn’t be the first to run delrin for leaf eye bushings. Actually quite a bit out there with positive feedback on how it tightens the feel of the rear end up. Leafs are meant to twist.

Definitely will tighten the feel up. Originally my design used poly bushings at both ends of the shackle and truck was almost undriveable with how much the axle wallowed around. Talked to some buddies that suggested Delrin for the frame side of the shackle. But with the leaf eye bushings you’ll drastically accelerate the wear and increase chances of breaking the main leaf. I was advised against it when building my rear.

 

I mean, if I throw fluid in it, it’ll run and drive again, it’ll just piss it all out. I know if it was running it would be an easier sell, but i am the dead horse this truck keeps beating.

I have the KC bar tied into my running, brake, and reverse lights. The ambers are wired to a switch to turn on with my other chase lights. I have it mounted up high in the window of my softopper. Never been harassed about it. Plus it's nice knowing all the semi trucks around me can see when I brake.

 

I get that but nobody is going to gamble that much money for something they cant at least drive down the street. 20$ seal and a weekend under the truck instead of camping and theres your 27k.

 

What'd you do for turn signals? I went with the BD because most bars could do what you described, but it was hard to find turn signals in the same package.

Noted! We’re going to thrash things as much as possible through hunting season and see what it yields!

 

Definitely interested in any steering stuff as well. I have a tundra rack right now that helped a lot, but haven’t pulled the trigger on a JD pump due to cost.
