    Went back and cranked my truck. The noise is like a leaf in a fan or leafs springs squeaking but it comes from the engine

    absolutely. I got mine after mudding. You just have to figure out which one is making the noise. If its just the idlers, they are cheap. $30 or so.

    Do the 4.0's run a seperate belt for everything like the 3.4's? If they still do Jesse take the belt off the AC and start the truck and see if you still have a noise.

    ya they do. I had an idler pulley get mud in it and ate the bearing up and it sounded like shit. Had to have it replaced but i also opened them all up and cleaned them out and regreased them.

    I guess I'm gonna have to buy one of those manuals from the parts store. I have no clue what to look for nor which belt/pulley is for what and how to check them.take them off. Shows how new I am :(

    Really easy. you just start it up and listen to each one of the areas where teh serpintine belt runs. Than once you find it, if its an idler pull it off and than clean it out and than put it back on and see if its any better. If its too bad than it will just need to be replaced.

    Is a serpentine belt the same as an AC belt? Besides it still makes the noise even with the AC off

    Well if you plan on working on your truck one of those manuals is a good thing to have so you should get one anyway. The best way to learn is to just start doing it yourself. Get the book and read what it says needs to be done before you go diving into it though, it might save you some time in the end!
