Tell me about it… I have TSA PreCheck through my job but it just makes things worse imo. I’ve had them dispute my drivers license photo and they always make me take my shoes off regardless, claiming it’s a “random check”. How is it that 100% of my flights since getting it I’ve been randomly checked? I started handing them my fed ID for domestic flights, passport for international flights of course.

In Germany earlier this month my passport was taken from me by an American Airlines gate agent. He then accused me of being suspicious and demanded I answer a bunch of terrorism related questions. After he accused me of being intoxicated (early morning flight!?! Of course I’m tired looking!) I demanded German police and he gave me my passport back quickly once I started making a scene. It seems like society must see me as a threatening/scary person.

Sorry, bit of a rant right there lol.

Damn dude you might just have some bad luck lol. Or maybe it's a regional thing. I've had pre-check for awhile now and haven't had any issues like that. Although, I can attest to the fact that having a baby/toddler with you puts them at ease. Last time the knife thing happened I probably would have been put in a TSA interrogation room otherwise.

Huh interesting, so it's like pre-check for essential workers. Yeah I never had the regular TSA pre-check until a couple years ago. Rebecca has had it for several years and we just met up at the gate. With the kids though it's kinda best to stick together in an airport.

Well it makes my job easier because i can go into refineries un escorted to work. But a perk of it is you basically have free TSA pre check

I've been on both sides of the equation, I get it. While I don't have debt, I also am chained to renting for the foreseeable future which is it's own can of worms.

Private? So are mine. Fortunately, nearly all paid off but yeah...the world of private bank rolled student lending is a fucking lawless, ruthless wasteland lol.

Oh you're dead? No family? *finds a distant cousin 9 times removed somewhere across the world* Suprise! this is your debt now

I could see renting a house like I'm in now, but I never want to live in an apartment, duplex, subdivision, etc....

Way better. Generally better, fixed rates. Less likely to constantly change. Federal loans generally are far more flexible and even forgiving under certain circumstances.

You've already landed a good career gig and your degree will only bolster your value there and in the job market, so I wouldn't worry.

And anyway like I said the federal loans are way more flexible. Worst thing you can do obviously is not pay them, but as long as you're transparent and communicate they will work with you to make manageable payments if need be.

    Private lenders be like
