    Didnt tie them in.
I can see that. The ambers only have an on / strobe option. I could have probably doubled up the high input on each side to tie in with the turns, but I didnt want amber turns in the stock lights, with red turns on the bar. Plus then I only had to tap one brake light, instead of running a signal wire from the other side.

Oh, I follow now. I didn't realize this was in addition to the stock lights.

baja designs must have some better keyword tags on their website then, because i searched for a WHILE and the kc bar didn't come up. it has running, brakes, and a reverse light as well? always good to have a second option if i end up not liking the BD bar for some reason.

For one, if removing the factory tails, then nope, cause you’d be missing reflectors.

I would think for a chase light you would not want the SAE cut off, am I wrong?

Why are people concerned weather chase lights are SAE/DOT or street legal? Just don't use them on the street. I don't tie any auxiliary lighting into factory circuitry. Unless racing do you really need auxiliary brake lights or turn signals?

My dual swingout rear bumper (especially with spare tire) can make it difficult to see the original brake lights and turn signals, so yes… it has a legitimate use on road.

If it doesn’t apply to you, that’s okay too.

speaking of chase bar tail lights, i tossed the the battery back into the truck to test all of the new back-half wiring. the baja designs RTL should do just fine! being specifically designed as a tail light, the light output seems much more proportional to factory tail light outputs, vs standard chase bars which feel would blind you on the highway.

Exactly. I plan on running chase lights 100% of the time with no stock taillights.

The reflector issue could be solved with a $2 pack of reflective tape from Amazon.

True. I have not considered all scenarios. But there are plenty of available lights out there that would not have the cost of Baja Designs. I am all for high quality lights including BD but for that purpose I would find a less expensive option and tie into the 7pin trailer connector if you have it.

I second this. I looked at a lot of options before going with the BD bar. And I really just did that for simplicity since I was losing the stock lights all together. If you're looking for supplemental lighting, there are so e really good looking motorcycle tail lights that are small and therefore versatile, and very inexpensive. They're also pretty attractive looking.

Yep one of my brake light lenses is broken and has a bunch of dust in it. Been too cheap / lazy to replace it. It's nice knowing people can always see my brakes.

I work in and around a port. It's nice having higher brake lights when in bumper to bumper traffic with semis all around.

Aren't the factory tail lights already leds after 2009 anyway? Instead of hunting around for some holy grail light bar that does it all, why not just fab up a mount for a few smaller ones and run the factory wiring to them?

California Vehicle Code Section 24600 (public.law) CA has some specifics, it will really depend on the cop behind you.
