Doesn't even need to be wet.
It's not a major inconvenience, dropping it for the day, though it still lands under inconvenient.

Off topic, but I just have to say how pleased I am right now with the customer service at EMG (pickups).

I ordered pickups from them awhile back, and the turnaround time was better than promised, and the pickups are fantastic! I decided to try a different setup, though, which required a special order on one of the pickups. I didn't see how to order the option I wanted on the website, so I decided to call. I was surprised when an actual human picked up, and was able to help me out. He offered to set up the order over the phone, but I was driving so I said that I would email it in.

I did so over the weekend, and today I already received an invoice which was even linked to my PayPal as I requested. If anyone is ever looking for a guitar or bass pickups, those guys really run a great operation over there!

So... if I'm going to seriously consider the Softopper that @Shellshock has, I'll need to sell my tonneau cover. Just kinda toying with this idea at the moment. Many of you have seen my cover. Having owned a few soft covers before, this one is far superior. I really like it, but I need to change up the configuration.

The cover is the 6' bed Lomax Stance in black diamond plate. https://shop.agricover.com/product/lomaxstance
It's unique in that it can be folded all the way up to the cab so the full bed can be used. I've used it in that configuration many times and it's solid.

Let me know if you have any questions or interest in it, or if you know anyone looking.

Pics from when I first installed it:

That's the main reason I'm considering one. Mobile camping

Dude right?! I've been talking to them about some custom wiring options for a preamp since my main gigging bass is a blacktop jazz, so I've got a pair of p bass pickups set up like a jazz bass. They've been super awesome and even sent me a 10% off coupon to use when I order my stuff. Probably going to end up getting two sets of geezer Butler pickups.

Upset with myself for waiting so long to do this. Also upset because I can’t finish tonight because I want my neighbors not to call the cops on grinding metal noises at midnight lol. More to come for the weekend. Procrastination last minute catch-up mode engaged!

Edit: oh yah for all the nonbelievers of Woolwax, here’s something to convert you over. Exhibit A: my cleaned cab mount, preserved like new under layers of sheep grease.

I think I ended up doing Ravenol but the stuff was expensive. The bottle nozzle was a bit of a pain to work with at the angle you need.

Amsoil would have been the pick if I had to do it all again. It ends up mixing with the diff fluids a little as it is if I remember correctly and for those I did go with Amsoil.

Might be talking out if my ass some more but the main concern was alway the additives messing with yellow metals in the transfer case on general use 75W not specified as WS.

All I know for sure is I've been bored with no projects or maintenance to take care of until my next oil change and the rumored Woolwax party.

    Too soon for Diddy jokes?.........

Some extra money in the first place would be nice

All power(funds) have been diverted to the kiddo on the way (the shields).

If I haven't bungled the analogy enough, that also means the emergency maintenance power would be the suspension overhaul I'm saving up for

Nice! On both counts, the CMC and the well preserved frame.

If anyone here follows South Main Auto on the YouTube I have noticed that he hits just about every metal to metal interface with fluid film.

We did similar during @rubbersidedown 's bumper install with wool wax. I thinks its a good practice in these parts.

I knew that was coming. No 35's for this ol' girl, only 33's. Well, at least until I get a bigger/taller garage because I can't fit it inside my current garge with anything bigger than 33's.

Yep nice shiny and preserved just to get the chop job. Better than chopping up rusty metal though. And yeah I cant stress enough how everyone up here in salt land should spray that stuff on everything, it's like happiness for metal items, your future self with thank you.

    I'm slowly coming around.
Whatever area of the truck I work on, gets hit with some fluid film when I'm done.

Are 33's a hit or miss depending on configuration.
Some may rub while others might not?

Fluid Film is good. If you have a compressor in your shop Woolwax is more good. Both are better than nothing unless you like rust.

3rd gens are a little different than 2nd gens. But for the most part I think you still need to do some work to make 33's fit without rubbing. I'll let the other 3rd gen owners guide you further on this because I don't know for sure.

The short answer is yes. I am running 33" pizza cutters (255-80 R17) on FJ cruiser steelies which have a +14mm offset. I get some rub on my mud flaps when turning while the suspension is compressed. I haven't done a cab mount chop but I do have SPC UCA's which allow for the LCA's to be pushed all the way forward and the alignment adjustment is done on the uppers.
The key is moving the tire as far forward as possible and having the tires offset inward. I would get more rubbing if I went with a aftermarket wheel with a 0 or negative offset. Spacers hurt too.

The common modifications are a cab mount chop, folding over the rear pinch weld, and remolding the inner fender to allow clearance. Again a lot depends on how far the tires stick out. More poke = more modifications.

It looks like new UCA's would help my ride quality.
I see what the alignment place did now...why the wheel is off.
Driverside "jam nut" (without a b) is jammed.
Everything else is as you described with the lca's pushed forward.
LBJ's and joint angles are fine. I can see the ubj's at a stressful wonky angle, though.
    They're maxxed.

285/75/16 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs with 0 offset and yeah, little bit of mudflap rubbing in certain turns with suspension compressed, nothing major. I have the flexing Rekgen mudflaps up front, but had to remove them in the rear with the new bumper. Might be more rubbing with stock flaps.
