Spoiler: Minor Rant

Been researching a 20V stubby impact for about a week. ‘Available’ at both HD and Lowes per their websites.

Stop at HD first, no one on the tool aisle so I get a dude walking by. He was nice enough but reeked of horrible BO to the point where I almost told him to stop showing me the handheld inventory thing. The HD website lied, they didn’t have it.

Lowe’s had an employee in the aisle so I thought I was golden. However, she could help me after she was done doing her ‘pull’ for an online customer. I asked if anyone else was available and she said she would page someone. She left only to return a few minutes later. I said thanks for coming back but I thought you were going to page someone. She said she could get the tool.

She unlocks the grill, reaches behind the one in front and gets a really banged up and dusty box. I handed it back to her and asked if she had one that wasn’t so banged up. She opens the grill again and gets me a less dusty box but with a couple of good size holes gouged in them. I asked if she had any others in new condition boxes. Her response- let me get someone who works in tools….WTF. I’m standing in the aisle holding a tool I’d never buy. About a minute later I hear her page someone from tools to my aisle so I just left. Went to the self check to pay for the ridiculously priced 4 gallon shop vac bags figuring I could just hand the tool to the attendant. No attendent. Found someone making herself look busy nearby and handed her the tool saying I didn’t want it…

I’ve been saying I’m done with physical retail for years but it’s a lesson I keep forgetting

Re: pajama/pacifier girl, @StayinStock hit the nail on the head. It’s a combination of bad parenting never setting expectations for normalcy and letting her do whatever she wants and her wider social circle accepting her as is because that’s what they do.

Re: who has more rednecks? After 20 something years up here, I’ve learned the White Mountains are just an extension of the Appalachian Range.. Everyone’s a cousin…

Need proof, Rt 2 in Randolph NH has a parking area called “Appalacia”.

Speaking of the White Mountains, some idiot in the NH thread called someone out on calling them “The Whites”. No rationale, no response to people asking to explain. Guess we’re at the point where people are afraid of colors.

It’s just like people getting offended when hearing a certain phrases about calling a card suit the same suit.

And it’s criminal there can be for profit insurance companies and healthcare entities. All these CEOs getting exorbitant payouts, it’s gonna be the ruin of the country. All on the backs of screwing the people they’re supposed to be helping. Give me a break.

Morning crew that B. A .F. is good to go just in time for fall. At least it's there for next summer. Getting ready for a bunch of rain from the storm, nothing like FL but 4-8" in the mountains is big especially when you live on a creek.
