I always tell my boosted friends on any car that methanol injection is the best mod you can do. Adds power and makes it safer.

I got same setup with you minus the water meth, how come you can reach to 9.4psi of boost with under 2k rpm while mine run almost 4.5k rpm only reach close to 5psi.
Is it the water meth really help to max out the boost?
    What tune do you use?

Zooming in on the gauge I see “PEAK”, so that looks like the max boost reached, not at 2k

Same but different. Many other variables.

Altitude, ambient temp, quality of gas, diameter of exhaust piping, etc

Water meth will help tremendously. I cannot recommend it enough. Noticeably stronger pull when it's spraying as well as lowered the afrs. I used to be able to do a few good pulls and power would fall off with heatsoak. Now it's strong all the time. Plus, a gallon of water meth is about 7$ when mixed. Kit is universal so can be mounted literally anywhere.
The only thing extra I had to order was the sno rubber I take tube adapter. I have the 2.5 kit courtesy of @jamesepoop 20240808_143120.jpg

Damn. This makes me want to put the truck on meth.
I need to register the truck out of state first though.

That wasn’t at 2k rpms. It was the peak boost that is stored on the Innovate gauge. I normally peak high 7s, so not sure if it was a fluke or if the water meth is somehow raising boost.

    That's make sense.

That's sound good especially on summer time deal with heat.
Any suggestions on brand for this kit?
Btw this meth and water kit is it legal on state inspection? Bc I just put it back my catalyt converter and don't want to get problem with state inspection.

    Btw thanks for the picture!

The kit is SNO performance. Get the 2.5 kit.
No idea on legality, I live in southeastern NC and they don't care much about anything. Plus I work at a shop sooooooo without saying anything incriminating.....I'll just stop there.

I mean it lowers combustion temps which is what the point of an EGR is. If I saw a setup on a car I wouldn't fail it.

Just looking for some insight on choosing a boosted solution. After a recent trip I'm really starting to realize how lacking my truck is "at speed" (I already have an hp tune). My truck isn't my daily, and is strictly a weekend trail truck. The truck upon last weigh in was just under 6K lbs (2005, 4.0). My main issue is, I drive to all of my trails, and I don't plan on getting haul rig and trailer to trailer my truck, so I need to be more capable on the roads heading to the trails. It's almost scary at this point trying to pass someone, and I have to have a lot of clear road ahead. Also this winter I plan to SAS my truck and potentially move up from my 40's. So my question to the SME's here is, what suits my needs closest the Magnuson Supercharger or the URD Mk3 Supercharger (or any ProCharger kit). I'm not looking for dyno numbers, but I do live in Colorado with many long steep inclines, and lots of people I need to pass on the way to the trail. Once on the trail, obviously, I'm not going fast (I'm not a dunes driver), but I also wouldn't mind a little more of a bump climbing obstacles. I had previously bought a partial used SC, but sold it. I do plan to do headers, HFC, and W/M. I'm not looking to make a race car, and I know the Tacoma wasn't designed to be "sporty", but with the options available I figure one should still improve performance noticeably. Look forward to your insight.

I could definitely be wrong about this, but I’d think a roots type like the Magnuson provides a bit more torque and low end grunt. I personally think that’d be better for your application. More power all round for street, and a bit more benefit for low speed trails and 4lo vs a pro charger that makes power more akin to a turbo

I’ve smogged other cars with the tank and pump in the truck and the line in the engine bay covered in flex tubing. No problems!

Definitely the meth kit is for racing car probably legal in some state..
Did this kit throw some code some how, make engine light is on?
probably if I get it I have to put somewhere else as long as not inside engine bay.
    Thanks Ivan.

Just add, "for off-road use only of course."
California is getting pretty bad about off road use though... The newer stuff is throttled and has emissions. It's getting crazy.

def if you passed once there is no guarantee you will pass again. I had a regular smog the first time then the next was a star smoke then the guy said he had to run a few extra tests (noted he does notnormally do it but the computer told him too. I am assuming due to S/C or some sense the ECU has changed. The guy was all over the truck. I had my injectors wrapped in electrical and had just replace the wrap, and he was asking what it was. Checked every part for a EO that he needed to as well. At least around here I don think I would be able to pull off hiding Meth but the loom and such are a good ideas. Each smog I have been swapping the TB and adapter along with fuel mods to get it close enough. Stil had a small pulley but i roughed it up to look less flashy. I had pulley boys but sanded off the P boys.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
I'd probably go with a Centrifugal like the Procharger if I was you. The roots style may increase the chance of breaking stuff as you reach peak torque earlier. With the concern being more related to passing people and on- road performance, a higher power band may be more ideal. The Centrifugal has the potential to make more power than the roots.
I wonder if the Centrifugal is better at compensating for elevation changes similar to a turbo? Not sure about that though.

Not saying this is the best option...but I would be taking a hard look at this. I would only pause from considering this if a global skirmish occurs and certain import/export restrictions are in place for certain countries.

But if that happens, blowers and trucks mods should be of little concern.

Anyways.... here's the link again. It's tempting.
