2004 Bed liner & rust - Ohio

    Finally getting to some of the rust spots in the bed after ripping out the spray on liner. On a side not this stuff was sprayed on with wild abandon, you went from half inch to 1/8 within a foot. It looks like it started bubbling off on its own and began trapping water as you can see after it rained.

    Currently soaking the spots in Ospho to kill the rust, I may be able to find a replacement bed or be able to cut/paste weld sections. I don't really want to try fabbing up patches myself. Aside from not wanting to have holes i mostly want to kill the rust before winterizing.

    Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
    Just right on top of the clear coat? Is that what I'm seeing? Sanded paint usually doesn't look shiny.

    It looks like the clearcoat was very very lightly scuffed with a circular sanding disk.
