I've got the OEM rubber one, but it is almost impossible to slide anything out on it (which is the point). Sometimes I need things to slide, like when the bed is full of camping gear. So the mat goes in and out of the truck depending on use, which is a PITA. I came across these $5 mats from Menards that I was using on the ground for my teardrop. They are super lightweight. It turns out that when they are rubber side down in the bed, they don't move, and stuff that I put on them doesn't slide on its own very easily, but I can slide things across them when necessary.

I still like the thickness of the Tractor Supply stall mat. Sharp edges can dig is with no damage to the bed. Your mat can sit on top of the tick mat when needed and roll up when not needed.

I bought a used F150 mat for super cheap, and cut it down to size.

Does "namaste" really work when crawling over rocks threatening to break your suspension?

I agree that the bare bed has too little friction and the bed mat has too much. The old school steel beds has the middle ground. However, steel beds could not survive more than a handful of Minnesota winters.
