That solenoid on the back of a 95-97 V6 truck intake manifold is for increasing fuel pressure during hot starts. It isn't strictly required and likely you'll never notice it is gone if you just run the fuel pressure regulator vac line to the intake without it.

Its been a while, but if I remember correctly I just put the hoses back on in the way that more or less felt right? I think I ended up finding the old hoses and based it off the length of the old hoses and what direction they were pointed and just made some educated guesses as to what went where. Never have had any issues since

USDOT has an office near my building and they have a federal gov plated cyber truck parked out front… it’s already showing corrosion all over the body.

What mental hoops did they have to go through to think that was a good use of tax payer money?

Sounds like an ankle injury, if broken he could be out a few months. But at least that's likely better than if he'd seriously hurt his knee and torn a ligament

Just a wild guess, but something to do with the EGR system if your truck was built in California? Hope you found a source for the information because I'm chasing down some serious vacuum leaks and something behind the air plenum is leaking pretty bad. I want to locate (pinpoint) the leak before I tear down the plenum or start digging in too deep. So any ideas?

Sounds like you can just bypass it like @Speedytech7 said and see if that fixes the issues, then maybe try hunting down a replacement.
Honestly the vacuum systems and EGRs in these trucks vary so much year to year, and whether they were California or not, its really hard to say.

My original post I was just trying to figure out what that thing was, to then try and find a picture to figure out the vacuum hose routing.
I didn't have any other issues with it, and didn't do anything with it except put new hoses on it.
