I came in the house last night about 10:20 and saw one of these spotted salamanders near the steps. He's 800ish yards from the nearest creek. Hope he wasn't trying to tell us something

This isn't the one I saw but looks just like it, it was about 5-6" long and thick.

    Good morning shop crew.

All good here on the western front. A little rain and a few small, dead branches came down during the night. Nothing to worry about here.

Good luck to you Jeff and anyone still in the path.

Yeh we got lucky on the east coast we've got friends in north Tampa that the storm surge has water almost inside their house. This is why insurance is so ridiculous in Florida. You're one bad storm away from your house and cars being toast. Happy Friday all stay dry out there...

This was the Pensacola Fairgrounds early last night, power crews waiting to roll out to the affected areas this morning. The Escambia Sheriff's Office and my old agency, Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office are sending command and radio trailers, disaster response teams to assist local agencies. Both county Emergancy Managements are also sending teams and equipment. Should be a pretty impressive convoy rolling down the interstate.

I was actually considering transferring to Florida, but looked at cost of home ownership... Nope! Even car insurance was way up there o_O

We had 2.7" last week, I poured 1.7" out yesterday when I got home. It started pouring yesterday about 8:30 pm, gauge only holds 4" so it may be full when I get home.

It's soggy out there. Debating switching the gutter flow from cistern to the yard. Probably going to do that tomorrow morning before I hit the dump. Still haven't re-directed the tank overflow somewhere else :anonymous:
