I assume you got the new double cardan rear driveshaft and leaky fuel line fixed? Any progress on his air cooler setup today?

 

New drive shaft is in, he took the parts to do the fuel line if he needs to but I think his fix last time actually fixed it, and we finished the exhaust so it is running all the way out the back now. He's driving at home right now so we'll know if the drive shaft fixed the vibrations in a few minutes

 

It's a little pricey for what it is. But seems perfect for living down by the river.

Thanks now there is one thing ahead of Bens van on the list of things I never want to see on the trail again.

 

The passenger seat looks waaaaay more comfortable than the one in the redhead.

 

I mean if you didn't have the fridge back there it would at least be as comfortable as a park bench

 

I never understood or cared for the 1st or 2nd Generation. The first gen screamed wanna be ghetto cruiser. However, we had a district manager who drove one and loved it. They had no style. I think they were trying to compete with the Toyota Cressida. They should have kept the 810. Finally, they hired an Italian designer for the 3rd and subsequent generations. I liked the 4th gen best in either the Nissan or Infiniti versions. It was one of those cases where engineering and styling had it together for the last golden years before Renault.

The kids loved them as 1st cars.

This one was a 5MT.

That thing has been listed and re-listed for a long time. It's almost like nobody wants it.

I really wanted Waffle House the other day though, all that was open at 11pm was Denny's and I can't take that kind of disappointment. But I'm going to NC in a couple days so dammit I'm gonna have Waffle House.

Scared off a tweaker trying to steal the Yukon parked outside my apartment at 4am this morning. 2 minutes later a family walks up with their luggage to catch an early AM flight out. Felt bad for them, apparently the tweaker stole a bunch of shit from inside.

Makes me tempted to throw in a kill switch for both the truck and the van, only reason he couldn't get the Yukon to start is the immobilizer is my guess, which my old junk doesn't have.

I try to not need to take my truck anywhere that I'd have to public park it anymore other than trips, but if I do or if I park it up for a long time at home I zero out the fuel map in the Haltech. It's actually a good solution because I don't zero out the cranking or prime pulse maps, so it like barely starts and then as soon as it catches it dies cause the regular fuel map has zero duty cycle in it. It would just be infuriating like a busted old truck to try and steal.

 

I need to put one on the Tacoma. The 02 LC has some aftermarket thing that is confusing to reengage after I disconnect the battery. Nobody would steal a 4th gen Maxima. I think it keeps away prowlers. Dangerous people must live in that house. LOL

 

I never gave them much thought until recently. I'm starting to see them and Dollar General pop up like weeds in places where I would not expect to see them.

I need to pop off the fuse cover by my left knee and see if there's something there that can be easily modified to work. Kill power to the started or the fuel pump.
