Exactly. I mean, it's one thing to do that shit. I've heard about a number of senior NCOs in various branches having questionable relationships with junior enlisted female SMs. But its another whole level of dumb ass to write a book about it and tell the entire world. Right up there with OJ Simpson's book "If I did it".

 

They're soldiers from completely different eras.

I mean, one taught fencing as a viable means of warfare. Back when cavalry had horses.
The other dude started his career when nuclear warfare was a threat.

They both have campaign ribbons from their respective work, but from very different points in history. I really don't know the point of comparing them.

B. I think the point of the meme is current military has made getting metals and awards apart of your daily military career. Show up to formation and pay your coffee dues on time for 12 consecutive months, and here's an achievement metal (I jest, a little ). Where as I think the military of Paton's generation received awards and metals when the actions justified it.

 

100% true. I have enough shit on my chest for promotions but tbh, don't think I ever did anything exceptional or meritorious, just my job.
