    Very sad.

I saw a video of that. Very sad. Also saw where one lane of the I-40 is gone. Seems like this storm has a higher body count than others  3 first responders killed when trees fell on their truck's

    At least it's not Louisville.
Louder than life going on there, along with a marching band competition at UofL, and Trinity at St. X football game. Traffic everywhere. I'm staying home.

I’ve looked at some of the places I’ve been that I’m not able to get much information on. One of them is dillsboro and the town is not very high above the Tuckaseegee River I was trying to check the river gauge there and it said 10.72 and rising and went offline yesterday. So I hope it’s fine but I’m afraid a lot of the places I remember might not look the same next time. If you want an interesting read some time google Mortimer NC and brown mountain beach resort Wilson creek wiped it outa couple times plus a fire so they just gave up. There’s very little there anymore of the town just a marker and the ruins of a textile mill.

12 hours before I leave for the Gunflint Trail and the cabin and still packing. Seems like I have been doing it all week as it is.

The storms come up and slam into the Saluda Grade and stall, slow down, and all hell breaks loose. The bridge going over the Davidson to the hatchery was wiped out with a flood ~30 years ago and the CCC camp and FS rebuilt it. Many said it was government overkill it is or was stout. Can't help but wonder if it held up to this one. Shame about Asheville I will have to call Calvin on the way to the North Shore tomorrow and see how he is making out. I haven't turned on the TV all day. Not the first time seems I get most of my news TW, be that good or bad.

Must be waterfowlers, there is a difference LOL. Sept 1 was upland opener in Montana and a lot of my friends were in NE Montana chasing brown birds with their dogs. It is hot and dry there and most are back home now. Hot and dry in NE Mn. too supposed to finally break Monday with chance of hard freeze in a couple of days. It better, makes the mosquitoes and bugs a bit stiffer. And easier on both man and dogs.

Tammy and Hazel are on the lookout after either a wolf or big coyote cut through the yard. It was like we weren’t even there. It hung around in the woods across the pond afterwards watching us.IMG_5438.jpg
