That’s a lot of water. Coming home from vacation this summer. Colorado to Washington. Problem was Oregon and Idaho were on fire. I84 was intermittently closed due to the +300,000 acre Durkee fire. We prayed hard and took the chance hoping to get through while the roads were open. Fire was so large it was creating its own weather. Drove right into this monster pulling our trailer. 75 mph gusts from the outflow and 3” of rain in 10 minutes. Pucker factor of 10. It allowed firefighters to get the upper hand and the freeway was reopened.

A friend of ours from church, her step mom passed a couple weeks ago so she moved her dad in with her and her husband, his health isn’t the best.

She ask if Cole and I could bring a trailer and help them move his stuff out of the house since it was his wife’s and her daughter was going to sell it.

We left yesterday and headed 2 hours south to Charlotte.

Loaded my truck with two bookcases I have to take to our preacher, and the trailer with a nice roll top desk, chair, bed, dresser, night stand, Craftsman chainsaw, Coleman lantern in the original box with paperwork, gas cans, and a few other odds and ends.

They told me I could have it. All of it.

We helped them load their trailer and truck with some other heavy items and came home.

Ok tomorrow is Monday neighbors son is bringing the trackhoe up and starting a mile down the road from here, and rearmoring the creek banks. I talked to him today about a tree that is precariously hanging over the creek up from me but on another neighbor's side, we're going to take it and be done with it (hear no evil see no evil). So hopefully we can work something out to get my stuff armored up.
Old Fort, Marshall, Chimney Rock, Biltmore village and more were completely submerged.
Thoughts and prayers for the affected ones.
Job is stay at home for the foreseeable future??? I offered to come in to help clean up.

So many of you all know about my mice troubles in the fall. I might have accidentally caused it all. Been using the shop vac a lot recently and it has been omitting a foul odor. Thought maybe the humidity got the cat hair funked up (I use it in the basement). Open it up and it's obviously being used as a mouse house and bathroom. Light bulb went off in my head. I usually keep it in the garage, but would bring it in the house when needed and leave it in the basement till it was needed in the garage again. I'm thinking they're getting in there and when I bring it in the house the get out and get in the basement. I might be wrong but I had one in the house during the summer and I'm pretty sure I brought the vacuum in...

Either way I got to throw it away. I cleaned it the best I could, but the top portion is all funky and stinks. Trash it goes!

Ugh that brings back flashbacks. Did contract maintenance in one of their warehouses. Open product would be all up in those machines. You wouldn't think the smell would be bad, but after inhaling it all day... ugh. Still can't walk down a cosmetic isle in any store to this day without gagging.

Got an email about the front sumo springs I ordered a while back. They are delayed again until October 25th. I guess I continue to wait. Something to look forward to I suppose haha
