Might take you up on that. Mostly I just hate pulling wire through the firewall haha.

I think I need to redesign the layout for my truck and run power to my rear seats and distribute from there for my radios.

Then it's the other part I hate of ripping apart the dash to correctly run all my extension lines.

So, my truck has been used and abused since I got it 2019. It is not showroom ready, and it makes some squeaks and rattles, as a 5 year abused woods driven truck is wont to do.

However, I was not expecting one of those squeaks to be from the tail light....

I bumped my tail light walking around the truck the other day and found the source of a squeak. It's rubbing on the bedside instead of floating.

Anyone have any of the bits THIS goes IN TO? Keep the brake light in the right position, I guess. And maybe stop my squeak......

I read someone used hot glue on there to make a new “foot”. Think the thread was “squeaky tail lights “

I didn't think that rock would move with anything less than the force of Thor himself.

Then Jack came through and just bulldozed it out of his way.

If it's anything like me, the first time you take it out, it works fine. Then the second time it gets yanked to oblivion and goes 30 feet into the grass and you just think "F it, the bolts are still there".

I think the missing tail lug receivers (whatever they're called) just become a feature instead of a bug.

Hot damn, first off - your memory of it, second off, that this is something someone else has seen before! :p

I couldn't find it but didn't dig in. I have to take that light off to replace a water logged bed light anyway, I'll do them at the same time.

Depending on your preferences, there is a very easy direct route to underneath the rear seats - in each rear corner there's a plug to access the body mounts from the top, from inside the cab. You could run inside the frame rails and pop up from below. With a properly modified/gasketed factory plug there would be no risk of water intrusion (any more than there would be with the factory plug).

You can see them in this shot from when I had my interior out - the big black circles in the back corners.

Something I just remembered about Gaia - and maybe Matt/Jared can see if this works with OnX.
You can import map PDFs using Map Warper. Specifically, the North Maine Woods wall map.

    upload_2024-10-1_8-24-48.png

    Here's the trains:

    upload_2024-10-1_8-25-14.png

And you can do maps in layers with opacity, so I can overlay the NMW map at 50%:

I tried to make an account on map warper to do it myself, but never got the email. Fortunately someone had already done the NMW 2024 map so I was able to just use one someone else already did.

I was stroking the ego of OsmAnd maps before, it appears you can do this with OsmAnd in some way (I haven't tried, those above images are my Gaia).

I used OsmAnd last year for my smoky mountain trip, I think I paid for a life time sub and plan to use it more. That being said, I’m lost using the maps most of the time, but figure I’ll get better.

I am not a fan or willing to pay yearly or monthly subs for a dam map, I’ll by a map for every state if I have to.
