That's pretty much how it went. Although, I was surprisingly able to walk right up the rock until the point I would get turtled at. But, the attempt that was successful did include a little bit of momentum. :D

I was actually thinking about that while I was backing down and very glad that I hacked it off last year.:sawzall:

What a shitty weekend with this crew...

    ... said no one ever!

So much fun. So glad I could make it. Pushed my truck (and my nerves) further than ever before. The new bumper was put to the test and it was worth every penny! Thanks to everyone in the group for making these events fantastic!

And, thanks to everyone who came!

I really appreciate everyone being cool with my brother cruising along with the ATV. I think he will definitely be visiting Tigerton again.

I'm looking forward to seeing a bunch of you again in a few days!

All cleaned up, just to get dirty again next weekend.

    20240929_174244.jpg

Side note: my skids are fucking trashed. Aside from the obvious fact that I need a real skid for the fuel tank, I'm not sure what to do about the rest of the skids. Every one is caved in. I could remove them all and try to pound them back flat with a sledge. Or, I wonder if I'm better off just upgrading to better skids.

Dean, at one point yesterday, Pat @pearing and I were watching you get through some obstacle, and I noted how much that extra 6" of wheelbase helps in some spots. Pat fully agreed and noted that your driving has improved so much, which is helping you that much more.

    Fully agree here!

Also, I am noticing this with the whole crew, and even myself! This really struck me yesterday, just before heading back to camp. On that steep rock with the bump at the top that leads to the ridge right alongside the perimeter road, I walked back to the initial steep rock in case anyone needed spotting. And, everyone was just confidently walking right up! I was impressed!

By the way, we really need to name these spots!

    Edit: this spot:

Glad to hear that everyone had a good time.
    I missed not being there.
Now it's time to focus on Bayfield

Do the skids touch any important parts? Oil pan, tranny and transfer case come to mind. If there is still clearance, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Though there may be more flex than if they weren't bashed up. Hammering out the dents may cause the bolt holes to not line up when you try to put 'em back on.

As far as I can tell, no contact other than the exhaust rattling against them in reverse. That's just a minor annoyance, so not a real problem.

Agreed about getting them to line up after straightening. Although, I'm not sure they'd line up anyway if I removed them to touch up.

Maybe I'll just keep using them for another season and then upgrade to 4X.

That's high praise from you guys, and I really appreciate it! Every upgrade does increase my confidence for sure, and I'm constantly learning more about the capabilities of these awesome trucks.

As @Thatbassguy said, it's not just me. Everyone has grown in their driving abilities for sure. Tigerton is such a great place to learn and have a blast doing it! Campsites and company ain't bad either!

Been getting that reverse vibe in my truck.
Was doing some bending yesterday by the t.c. hump.
Truck was starting to sound like @Aztec120 's rig.

Should probably get to bending too before the Woolwax party. Wouldn't want that skid to feel left out.

Didn't know you grabbed that video. Thanks! I didn't take many pics. I was having too much fun, and every time I got out of the truck I left my phone behind. I think you got me going over the rock bridge too. I know you're very busy prepping for your trip, but if/when you get it posted somewheres, let me know, eh?

Hey Dean @rubbersidedown, I have a bunch of pics of you getting through Jonathan's pit (back by the road). I think I showed you some. How should I get them to you?

Come to think of it, I have a bunch of Cisco @Aztec120 also. How can I get them to you?
