So, earlier I had gotten a battery test during drop off and it measured 51% with 184 cca

They had me leave the battery to charge for +2 hours on their setup

Before I left, guy believed me when I said I had charged it up for +4 hours so he went ahead and ordered up a new battery to arrive tomorrow (none in stock within 2 hours distance)

Well, just came in for the second battery test and sure enough still 51% but cca went down to 171

So, getting a new one under warranty tomorrow :bananadance:

    hahahahaha

For real though, the funnier thing is calling Infopath and Sharepoint "Office apps."

    - - - Backstory - - -

There was a lot of fighting to keep the XL logo to be an "X" rather than changing it to "E." Originally, it was a stylized "XL," which they dropped in 2013.

The original, where the L extended all the way to the right.
    upload_2024-9-30_19-53-43.png

Through 2010, still an L, but a lot shorter.
    upload_2024-9-30_19-52-25.png

Starting in 2013, no more "L." Branding deemed it more important to have flat icons to match Windows Phone 7. Several people on the team threatened to quit. Only one did.

Well now that is juicy backstory... I can only assume the quitter was already on a retirement path anyway and thought it'd be funny.

I would appreciate if SharePoint died in a fire with Teams. SharePoint seems more like Fisher-Price "My First Project Binder" complete with entirely broken user management and dubious usefulness much like the middle management that peddle it. Teams is just Spyware by another name.

InfoPath is the only one I have never seen anyone use... And Access, well okay people use access for Legacy things still since it was before making a non-developmentally disabled data management interface was possible for an end user. How a major data theft hasn't been attributed to Access ODBC integration I have no idea.

Access was great before there were other open source, faster, portable databases. You know, Windows 3.1 timeframe.

Sharepoint was originally built twice (and at the same time). One version ran on SQL Server, the other on Exchange. My first project was helping with a dev tool for the Exchange version. Count your lucky stars you got the SQL version. (And I agree that it sucks too.)

Infopath is worse, and was the brainchild of a guy who'd been trying to convert all the Office apps to be web-based and 100% XML schema compliant because it was "the future" and "backwards compatibility didn't matter." He was a smart guy - one of the authors of the XML 1.0 spec - but not very... shall we say, grounded in reality.

I hate that I liked this so much. I'm deeper I to spread sheets these days, not that is a good thing. Pivot tables are my bread and butter.

My first exposure to Sharepoint was *checks watch* 15 years ago and my opinion that it's a mess in search of a problem hasn't changed a bit in that time.

Teams is a fascinating example of how to get almost every already-solved-for-by-everyone-else detail wrong. My current favorite is its complete inability to handle copy/pasting images in a useful way.

Just the native ones from the insert tab if that's what you mean. Parses though the data pretty easily to sort what I need. I have learned some things new for this job but hope to keep getting more proficient. So many times I want to manipulate the data a certain way but don't know how, and can't easily Google it.

Like for example I have a table that I want to filter the rows, not the columns. Couldn't figure that one out today.

I'd be afraid to put "Teams Developer" on LinkedIn or a Resume for fear of death threats. It became the de facto standard not because it's competent in anything it chooses to implement but because it's already included free in a Microsoft A3 licensure

I'm sure the developers working on it are just as unhappy with Teams as we are. To misappropriate Conway's Law, a dysfunctional organization will develop a dysfunctional product, and product management that doesn't use the product they're managing will prioritize flashy nonsense over getting the little things right.

That said, I bet "Teams Developer" is a pretty short stint for anyone who has tried it.
